bored now

"He's not so bad after all."

No one had asked Fuchsia if she wanted a brother, let alone a newborn baby one. The very idea was preposterous. After all, she was the daughter of the Earl of Groan and if anyone should have been consulted on the matter it should have been her. But they hadn't and her mother had just gone on and had one without telling her.

She was furious. She'd stomped right up to her secret attic and had a good brood followed by an even better dream. It made things better for a little while.

It would have been even better had she not had to go to the stupid naming ceremony. She never got a naming ceremony, but then she was just a girl and who cared about her? It was stupid especially when everyone already knew what the stupid baby's name was going to be. Not only that, but it was boring and her crown was heavy and she had to stand still and wear some silly dress that wasn't red. And it was taking forever.

And then the most wonderful thing happened. They dropped him. The baby, her brother Titus, they dropped him on his head and it was wonderful. Along with how particularly ugly a baby he was, Fuchsia decided she just might love him after all.

"Pinched nose, flat head, weird, weird eyes. No, no. Not so bad. Not so bad, is he."
