We at Atomic Chat care about your rights, and we assume you do too. Please take a moment to read these Terms of Service carefully. By downloading or using Atomic Chat, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Our Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Atomic Chat (the "Application"), you enter into a legally binding agreement with Atomic Chat and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms govern your use of the Application at all times.

What Atomic Chat Is

Atomic Chat is a local AI chat application that runs language models entirely on your device. It is free, open source, and requires no account or subscription. The full source code is available at github.com/AtomicBot-ai/Atomic-Chat.

No Account Required

Atomic Chat does not require you to create an account. There is no registration, no password, and no user profile. The application works entirely offline after models are downloaded. Because there is no account, there is no account to lose, recover, or transfer.

License

Atomic Chat is distributed under an open source license. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute it in accordance with the terms of that license. Please refer to the LICENSE file in the GitHub repository for the full and authoritative license text.

Terms of Use

You may use Atomic Chat freely for personal and commercial purposes, subject to the open source license. You agree not to use the Application to:

• Generate content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
• Harass, threaten, defame, or harm any individual or group
• Create or distribute malware, phishing material, or other malicious software
• Violate the intellectual property rights of others
• Circumvent any applicable laws or regulations

Since the Application runs locally on your device, you are solely responsible for how you use it and for the outputs it generates.

Third-Party AI Models

Atomic Chat enables you to download and run AI models created by third parties, including but not limited to Meta (Llama), Mistral AI, DeepSeek, Alibaba (Qwen), and Google (Gemma). Each model is subject to its own license and terms of use. By downloading and running a model, you agree to comply with its respective license.

Atomic Chat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any third-party model provider. We make no representations about the accuracy, safety, or suitability of any third-party model for any particular purpose.

AI-Generated Content

AI language models can produce inaccurate, misleading, biased, or inappropriate outputs. You acknowledge this limitation and agree to review and verify AI-generated content before relying on it for any important decision. Atomic Chat does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any AI output for any specific purpose.

Updates and Availability

Atomic Chat may release updates, new versions, or modified builds from time to time. We make no guarantee of continued availability, backward compatibility, or uninterrupted functionality. Use of the Application is at your own risk.

Exclusion of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APPLICATION WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ATOMIC CHAT AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

YOU USE THE APPLICATION ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE APPLICATION IS TO STOP USING IT.

Intellectual Property

All rights to the Atomic Chat name, branding, and original code remain with Atomic Chat. User-generated content — including prompts and conversations — is yours entirely. We do not claim any rights over what you create using the Application.

Compliance with Authorities

Your use of Atomic Chat does not place you above the law. If we are required by a valid court order from a competent jurisdiction to provide information, we will assess the legal validity of the request through legal counsel before complying. We will not cooperate with voluntary surveillance programs of any kind.

Termination

You may stop using Atomic Chat at any time by deleting the application from your device. Since no account or server data exists, uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your machine.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where the developers are located. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Application shall be resolved in accordance with that jurisdiction's laws.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Modified" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Definitions

Application: The Atomic Chat software, including all versions and updates.

Agreement: The agreement between you and Atomic Chat formed by your use of the Application and your acceptance of these Terms.

User / You: Any individual or entity that downloads, installs, or uses Atomic Chat.

Third-Party Model: Any AI model created by a party other than Atomic Chat and downloaded or used through the Application.
