this is a loose post more inspired off
coyote's post (though i saw it on pillowfort first) and
think piece on tumblr's influence on comments and how it talked about the
commenting culture in general--i guess im kinda doing a response thing in return LMAO though i did comment on ix post on pillowfort, this is more just unpacking my own history with it
i guess it kinda more-so got me thinking that damn ... dreamwidth and pillowfort for me right now really are more my return to a comment culture, and through neocities as well, and to some degree forums? i've been on tumblr for half of my life-time and pretty much embraced the 'talk in tags' and rarely replying to anything because it feels too Loud on there ... but it's funny bc i was on deviantart before, the Center of Commenting On Stuff
i post on bearblog, but there's no comment section built in because as per bearblog's words,
comments can be messywhich i think is a little silly for blogs that are a little more personal? i'd get it for big blogs, or blog posts that can invite incendiary conversations, but having a door open for a simple 'i like this!' is nice. i guess dreamwidth + posting the blog links on neocities is my way to have comments for what i think about
i need to get used to commenting more, it's still a bit of a struggle, mostly since sometimes i just don't have anything in-depth to say and wish i could merely leave a like that someone is seen. i may eventually make it a goal to go back too all my bear blog posts and add links to dreamwidth here, and a link to a komment plugin page where people CAN leave comments
