Founder bio · Matthias Aspilon
Matthias grew up with a port-wine stain across his right cheek. For twenty years “coverage” meant pore-clogging, mask-heavy makeup that flagged the difference it was meant to hide. He started Aspilon in 2025 with Dr. Barbara Geusens after a year of formulation work in Ghent, the brand he wished had existed when he was thirteen.
He’s a public speaker on visible-difference advocacy in Belgium + the UK. Available for interviews on launch date and during press windows; typical lead time is two business days.
Founder bio · Dr. Barbara Geusens, CSO
Dr. Geusens leads Aspilon’s formulation work. PhD in dermatology + 12 years in clinical research at Ghent University Hospital. Specialised in barrier-friendly formulations for compromised skin (rosacea, post-procedural recovery, eczema-prone tolerability).
