Witchy Woman

Tricksterwitch's Mass Post of Awesome!

Before you read this (or any of my future posts): I am very new to Witchcraft. I've been reading up on it for a year now, and consider myself to be more of a student of Paganism than an actual Pagan (yet). I don't believe that I'm right for ANYONE but me, and always try to exude that so others understand that what I believe is for ME and NOT what I think that they should do... that way, I can continue to be outspoken :P But if any of these questions offend you in the slightest, PLEASE tell me so I can apologize with a nice few lines of "OMGOMGIARESOSRYOMG" or something akin to that ;)

What are a few good websites / books that explain Dark Paganism? Deities, spellcraft, traditions, anything. I really want to look up as much stuff about different forms of Paganism to add to my own Eclectic views.

I SUCK at meditation. I can't do it for the life of me, so I've pretty much given up on it... but this is very limiting. The problem is that not only am I impatient, but I also have ADD (though I'm medicated). Is there any meathod that you could please tell me that could teach me how to focus?

Is it alright if you mainly worship Nature, and (while you don't exactly IGNORE them) don't attend to the Goddess and God as much? My reasoning is that I've never been face-to-face with any Deity (to my knowledge), don't have a conciously intimate relationship with him / her / them, and that Nature is RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME and an obvious part of me. Again, it's not that I don't *try* to worship them... it's just that I tend to worship trees, plants, animals, etc. a lot more, and it comes to me naturally.

What are a few non-Llewellyn publishers to take a look at (because I've heard from multple sources that their authors can be severely misinformed? Most of my books are from that company! >.< And yes, I'll admit that my first book WAS "Teen Witch" by SilverRaven Wolf...)

Was the Horned God taken from Paganism by the Christians and turned into something evil because Paganism was the main religion of the time and (some, not all) Christians wanted to "tear it down", as it were?

What are your personal proofs that Pagans and Witches aren't evil? (Obviously, I don't think they are, and have my own reasons for thinking that... but what are YOURS?)

What drew you into Paganism / Witchcraft?

I'm Worried: Can someone tell me if I'm a fluffy bunny or not? (Stupid question) XD

Um. Sorry for the MASS POST. I've just had these questions (and many others!) for a long time. I know literally ZERO Witches, and have only ever found three online (via Youtube and LJ). I have NO mentor or anything. So I just end up getting a lot of worries - not that I'm doing anything wrong (it's all right for me), but that I'm totally ignorant and, therefore, screwed XD

-doubts that many people will comment on this, due to its massivity and the activity of this community. damn.-

PART I: The Bridge Between Night and Day

"Aloneness haunts. The crack of the sky.
A primordial thing
Where blurred vision first cleared its way
Into an ancient eye.
The first vacant look, the first stirring
Mingling night and day."

-Peter Makem

The Toad Bone Treatise: A New Horizon for Modern Witchcraft

For all you sorcerously inclined people out there:

THE TOAD BONE TREATISE
Or
Liber Hydrargyrum

Steps Towards an Occult Natural Science and the Advanced Practice of Sorcery

http://www.robinartisson.com/toadb…

Some parts of the document are very philosophical; others far more "earthy" and praxis-based. I think it all came out pretty well. I think it will be a good source of interest and insight for those who are just dented a bit already. Glad Yule to you all!

Friends of the Gods: Get in on the ground floor

So now, the rant has gone beyond driven. Are you a friend of the Gods? I hope so. The time for political correctness is over. Woodsmoke, blood, feet being bashed against stones, honey and incense, the mind opening and entering the sky, the wisdom of the very old times, and the fulfillment of every aesthetic promise made by the sacred mythologies of old is at hand. I suppose you will need to be a little unhinged to make the walk... but hey, I've been walking for a long time, and look how good I'm doing! It's time to take a new look at what the ancients believed, and see how it matters now. Truth and Freedom are the common foundations of all greatness.

All you spiritual rogues and anarchists that love the Gods need to work with me here. I got a list going, and I'm checking it twice, knowing full well who's been naughty or nice. Bronze for the skull bowls!

A benefit of joining the Yahoo! group will be great: you'll get tri-weekly issues of "Uncommon Piety: The Chronicle of Theon Philoi"- a journal for pan-Indo European Polytheistic religious experience in the modern day- full of awesome articles about being a Friend of the Gods in the 21st century.
