On Jeju Island, Won Mi-Ho (Lee Da-Hee) feels despair due to the deaths of people around her. She vows not to lose anyone else and undergoes training from Geum Baek-Joo (Ko Du-Shim) to regain the powers she once had as Wonjeong. In ancient times, Wonjeong was destined to save her people on Jeju Island by creating a barrier from the lust demons that rampaged over the island. Two boys, Van and Gungtan were raised nearby solely to kill the lust demons, but they escaped.
Now, Van (Kim Nam-Gil) and Priest Johan (Cha Eun-Woo) watch from afar as Won Mi-Ho tries to awaken the energy that she was once held. Meanwhile, Gungtan (Sung Joon) lurks in the background filled with fear and rage. He begins his quest to throw the world into chaos and darkness.

Park Min Mar 09 2024 10:23 pm The drama kicked off with good modern visuals and an interesting fantasy setting on a mystical island. However, it quickly unraveled. The fantasy elements, though visually appealing, peaked in the first two episodes, while the remainder felt like a rehash of what we'd already seen. It's strange that they revealed all their cards in the beginning, leaving the rest feeling empty. The female lead was sent to the island to work as a teacher, but this plotline was completely irrelevant and didn't last for more than one episode. The direction the drama took with the fantasy story turned out to be quite disappointing afterwards. More on characters, the female lead was an unstoppable cringe generator with her non-serious interactions, especially with the male lead in the earlier parts. It was the writers way trying desperately to build chemistry between the two, but it was impossible without rewriting the characters themselves. However, the character that suffered the most from both the writers' curse and the cast choice was Goong Tan. It doesn't take a a blind man to see what was wrong. The drama ended up being this shallow shipwreck of recycled ideas and bland characters.

Then the freaking ending!! I don’t think Van needs to die! I feel so frustrated with the ending.. after all this time can’t you let him live happily?! All of his sacrification and guilt that he felt, isn’t that already showed the human part of him? Isn’t that enough to save him from being vanished like the other lust demon?! I was really hoping that there will be a way for him to stay alive at the end because he had to suffer from the beginning so the writer wouldn’t be so cruel to let him suffer until the end.. but I was soo wrong! Then the one thing that make me angrier was when the barrier that Van’s sacrificed his life for just broke EASILY because the girl pulled out the dagger! Like What?! Arghhhh!! Many people died for the barrier to be broke that easily?!
I get that the writer trying to hint us with maybe Van will be back at the end and he’s alive but I’m not happy with it one bit because he just coming back just to kill many more lust demon! I want him to be alive to live happily with the person that he loves. Is it so difficult for him to get?! I really hope there will be a season 3 just so that the writer can end this properly this time! I will definitely watch it so I can satisfied my need to see Van get the life that he deserved!!

Kdrama Jul 28 2023 11:45 am This drama is good. Really hard to pull off fantasy without being too nonsensical. But this drama pull through with amazing storyline. Dont be too hard on won min ho, she was not raise like woenjong. She didnt even know all this prophecy till she reached jeju when she was suppose to hide there. Yes she learned how to fight and shoot but was taught as a hobby and self defence but not against demons. I just wish they would explain more abt those ppl in white hood. Who are they? Yes Van should not have died, but he is tired after hundred of years fighting all the lust demon alone and waiting for Woenjong to appear. And why is priest johan extra extra strong as a human he is incredibly strong, his been stabbed like twice but managed to be alive, how?

This movie also has one of my sweetheart's Cha Eun Woo and Kim Na-gil in it. Lee Da Hee is also my sweetheart too. I loved the way she acted in season 1. I hope and wait for the next season

All of it wouldve been merged in one episode but they decided to drag it too much. Honestly losing interest but i’m still trying to power through as i want to know what happens but jeez the dragging is too much

Mir Apr 23 2023 1:22 pm I ussually do not write reviews but I have to for this one. I liked the first season a lot, it was really good, but oh, second season was such a dissapointment. It was very boring, story was just dragging and it was missing all the freshnes that first season had.

The last fight scene was so good for Eun Woo. I would have never thought he had it in him because he usually only does romances but he did excellent. Really hoping there is a season 3.

And I got to say something about Sungjoon's acting. It's bland.
I had high expectations for this Part 2, oh well it was a mixed emotions ride.

Sasha Mar 19 2023 3:43 am And man, Van was the only good reason you can watch this drama. He lifted the whole cast, their acting are good but without Kim Nam Gil, this drama would be so boring! Unlike other dramas you would love to watch nonstop, this is not it. It doesn’t give the excitement effect that you other kdrama feels, you know like fighting your sleep to watch the next episode ? you can even pause this at anytime and you would not feel guilty at all. Overall 5/10 ?

Her character was lacking so much, they even trained her how to fight how to use guns ever since she was a kid but dang she never fought back anyway. I let it pass on season 1 since (okay she’s shocked) the heck, still weak at season 2??? This doesn’t deserve the hype man, tbh just bc Eunwoo is here people are hyping but a lot of other kdramas are so much better than this. The writer did her character so dirty, she have a really strong look in her face that’s why I expected her to be strong but shesshh so weak

It teaches people how to keep one's faith in Him no matter what happens. And for those characters who played the roles of having supernatural powers, they teach us that we can fight our big monsters in life. We only have to focus on our own goals (especially to our mission) and achieve for them. Thank you for this wonderful drama
