This was all your fault. No matter what they made themselves believe otherwise, it was. The reason Luka’s once clear skin was stained by the remnants of earlier tears shed and his eyes were red and hung by deep, dark eyebags of regret. The reason Till’s eyes matched, but was topped off with a deep purple that resembled his boyfriend’s fingertips and his lips and nose had a crimson cast of blood over them. The reason both of them sat on the floor of your bedroom with the former’s breathing erratic and his body trembling like never before while the latter attempted to calm him despite having a dislocated shoulder and a broken foot—this was all a result of your naive actions and thoughtless decision-making.

What’s sad is that the first mistake was made all the way back in your elementary years during recess when you and Till were nine and Luka was seven.

This may or may not end up as another 10k fic though I do plan for it to end on a fluffier note than my Kunikuzushi fic but I make no promises..

It's eerie how still and quiet it is — how the outside world seems like a distant world by the way nothing out there permeates the space; no birds or insects could be heard conversing, the rain pouring down outside seemed to fall mute the moment you walked in, and the noises the dead trees outside made whenever one of it's long branches brushed against a window never reached your ears. It was like walking into a black hole.

How odd it probably looked when a smile graced your lips — not like you could help yourself. After all, in such a short while, this place has become like a second home to you.

The people who reside here especially.

As if on queue, a person emerges from the abyss with a small, circular plate that held a singular, lit candle. Petite in stature with dainty limbs to boot. Faded black hair worn up in a slightly messy bun. Clear skin that looked porcelain with a slim face that accentuated big ruby eyes and obsidian pupils. Red stitching threaded through skin beneath small lips, long lashes, and straight down the adam's apple — matching the two x's that pin back unruly bangs.

It's hard to believe someone possessing such a bewitching look belonged to a man — much less a guy pushing forty.

"You're here early," He remarked with one of his usual grins. Back then, when you happened across this place for the first time, you remember feeling unnerved at the sight of his closed-eyed, smiley expression. Oh how things have changed in all the best ways.

2. A little oopsies while carving pumpkins leads to one of your partners holding the other back in every way possible in order not to expose their mutual secret.
3. Teaming up with one of your partners to convince the other to dress up in silly trio costumes and spend your Halloween together trick-or-treating.

Pro tip: when agreeing to be a taste tester for your friend — who's a witch-in-training — in order to help them curate the perfectly sweet treat for their Halloween Party, make sure they have a spell or potion for if, or when, things go left. Otherwise, your partners may be forced to spend such a spookily-delightful day trying to quell the worst sugar high they've ever seen.
5. Getting broken up with on Halloween sucks, but at least your two best friends are here to keep you company.

The bell above chimes and the loud whine of the front door opening and closing is immediately swallowed by the darkness that covers the room. It's eerie how still and quiet it is — how the outside world seems like a distant world by the way nothing out there permeates the space; no birds or insects could be heard conversing, the rain pouring down outside seemed to fall mute the moment you walked in, and the noises the dead trees outside made whenever one of it's long branches brushed against a window never reached your ears. It was like walking into a black hole.

How odd it probably looked when a smile graced your lips — not like you could help yourself. After all, in such a short while, this place has become like a second home to you.

The people who reside here especially.

As if on queue, a person emerges from the abyss with a small, circular plate that held a singular, lit candle. Petite in stature with dainty limbs to boot. Faded black hair worn up in a slightly messy bun. Clear skin that looked porcelain with a slim face that accentuated big ruby eyes and obsidian pupils. Red stitching threaded through skin beneath small lips, long lashes, and straight down the adam's apple — matching the two x's that pin back unruly bangs.

It's hard to believe someone possessing such a bewitching look belonged to a man — much less a guy pushing forty.

"You're here early," He remarked with one of his usual grins. Back then, when you happened across this place for the first time, you remember feeling unnerved at the sight of his closed-eyed, smiley expression. Oh how things have changed in all the best ways.

Judging from the paint that stains his black button down, he was likely in the middle of working on a commission or one of his many personal projects when you walked in. It was odd, though, seeing him so dressed up. You decide to point it out.

"Ari said we should dress up for the occasion, but I got bored after she kicked me out of the back so I decided to kill time with a little painting," He replied and you could do nothing but laugh out of pity for the consequences that await him in another hour or so. Ari will no doubt be livid about the mess he made out of his attire and the studio that you can't see at the moment.

"C'mon, let's light some of the candles! Ari's done a real' nice job preparing for the party. I'm sure she won't mind if you took a quick peek at it — you're one of her favorite regulars after all!"

The bell above chimes and the loud whine of the front door opening and closing is immediately swallowed by the darkness that covers the room. It's eerie how still and quiet it is — how the outside world seems like a distant world by the way nothing out there permeates the space; no birds or insects could be heard conversing, the rain pouring down outside seemed to fall mute the moment you walked in, and the noises the dead trees outside made whenever one of it's long branches brushed against a window never reached your ears. It was like walking into a black hole.

How odd it probably looked when a smile graced your lips — not like you could help yourself. After all, in such a short while, this place has become like a second home to you.

The people who reside here especially.

As if on queue, a person emerges from the abyss with a small, circular plate that held a singular, lit candle. Petite in stature with dainty limbs to boot. Faded black hair worn up in a slightly messy bun. Clear skin that looked porcelain with a slim face that accentuated big ruby eyes and obsidian pupils. Red stitching threaded through skin beneath small lips, long lashes, and straight down the adam's apple — matching the two x's that pin back unruly bangs.

It's hard to believe someone possessing such a bewitching look belonged to a man — much less a guy pushing forty.

"You're here early," He remarked with one of his usual grins. Back then, when you happened across this place for the first time, you remember feeling unnerved at the sight of his closed-eyed, smiley expression. Oh how things have changed in all the best ways.

Judging from the paint that stains his black button down, he was likely in the middle of working on a commission or one of his many personal projects when you walked in. It was odd, though, seeing him so dressed up. You decide to point it out.

"Ari said we should dress up for the occasion, but I got bored after she kicked me out of the back so I decided to kill time with a little painting," He replied and you could do nothing but laugh out of pity for the consequences that await him in another hour or so. Ari will no doubt be livid about the mess he made out of his attire and the studio that you can't see at the moment.

"C'mon, let's light some of the candles! Ari's done a real' nice job preparing for the party. I'm sure she won't mind if you took a quick peek at it — you're one of her favorite regulars after all!"
