I just had my social security denied after my court hearing 2 months ago and the judge misgendered me through her entire denial report. She used she/her pronouns through 90% of it and switched to they/them at the very end. I changed my legal name and gender 5 years ago, 2 years before I ever applied for SSI. I pass as a cis man and my voice reflects this (it was a trial over the phone) and several of my other doctors and therapists said they had no idea I was trans until I told them.
She accused me of lying about my diagnosis and then discarded my doctor's diagnosis and physical evaluations and said she would not consider them. She used all of the testing we did to rule out other diseases as proof that I was ablebodied rather than proof that I had been seeking extensive care and help for my constant pain. She accused me of being drug seeking when I have never had any history of drug abuse or even use outside of a Marijuana dependency to help with my chronic pain, of which I have consistently followed my doctor's recommendations for use and breaks.
But yeah, sure, transmascs are completely exempt from medical misogyny, especially the cis passing guys.
im not sure if anyone will see this reblog but I just wanted to say thank u to everyone who has left kind comments/tags/etc on this post, its nice to be reminded that kindness and community does exist after dealing with something so shitty
I do want to note to everyone who is encouraging me to file a discrimination report of any kind that I will be talking to my lawyer about it when we meet later this month, but please remember that this is a system that is designed to kill disabled people. this is deliberate. they do this on purpose to try to force you into homelessness and die or kill yourself so that they dont have to pay you. a discrimination report would take years to process and most likely have little to no consequences for the judge. Remember to love your disabled brothers too, because this is the system we have to navigate just to have any shot at survival.

makes me so happy seeing this still getting notes from girls excited about their surgeries. it's wonderful sisters, more wonderful than you can imagine!!! i'm 3 months in now and i truly couldn't be happier with her, it's a medical marvel and it looks pretty and it functions perfectly and sex feels good and i'm so much more confident and comfortable and i'm wearing what i like and 90% of my dysphoria has disappeared and just!!! it's a wonderful thing! i love being trans!
1 year post-op here and I can corroborate this! It's absolutely fantastic!
I will also add that it feels exactly like I always knew it would! My brain and my body always had the software, it just needed the hardware!
