I don't know why I'm up this early on my day off, but I am. The Today show is on and I can't believe what this woman is saying. She basically blamed the United States decline as a world power on our weight problems...

....um, wha?

Our decline as a world power is because we can't manage a couple of trillions of dollars, not because our waistbands are expanding. We can always lose weight, but the future is uncertain when it comes to if we can get out of this economic hole that is threatening to swallow us up at any moment.

Rant over.

Okay, so I'm 99.999999999874% sure I'm back to post regularly. It's been tough with school, but now that I'm off for the summer, I don't have the excuse anymore...

Summer has not started the way I had hoped. I wanted to see Star Trek, but nuuuuuuuuuuuuuu, I don't have monies. I am back at work, so my status as only-person-who-hasn't-seen-Star-Trek will be remedied this weekend! I've got a busy weekend coming up! I will definitely post pictures (for anyone who still reads this journal >_>) and maybe some fanfiction.

Things Coming Up:
-Nightwish in Atlanta tonight!
-Supernatural Season Finale!
-Georgia Aquarium with my Mom!
-SHOPPING!!!11!

Zombies and lime flavored popcorn

I just finished watching Heroes and, wow, what a great episode. I won't go into detail for those on my flist who haven't seen it yet, but, I gotta say, I've never been much of a Sylar fan (I know, BLASPHEMY!) but I really like the direction his story line is taking. I found myself wishing I could skip Claire's pouting and Nathan's scheming and see more of America's favorite serial killer at his sneakiest. I really hope this show continues its climb back to its former glory.

Also, I've discovered the tasty treat that is Orville Redenbacher's Lime and Salt Popcorn. Soooo good. And I hear it's pretty healthy too ;)

I have to give an informative speech in my public speaking class  and I want to do it on something interesting and what's more interesting than zombies? I really think the idea will be hard to pitch to my teacher though, since he seems not to really stray from by the book presentations. I thought about either doing an informative speech on how to survive a zombie apocalypse or sybolism in zombie films. The latter seems the likely candidate for him to okay but that causes the problem: What sybolism should I talk about? I thought about comparing it to the alien invasion movies from the 50s but other than that, I've got nothing. Nadda. So if anyone can help me hash out some ideas, I would be much obliged.

Like Poking at a Dead Thing

So, I know my LJ is pretty much dead, but I was hoping to resurrect it somehow. I am not sure if I just want to start a new account or revamp this one. I've been angelmoogle  for so long, it would be weird to start another, but then again, maybe its time for a change?

I guess I'll decide sometime this weekend what I want to do. For anyone who may happen upon this post, what do you think?

So the end of the world...

...didn't happen last night. Jeez, I was kinda counting on it so I wouldn't have to read Oedipus at Colonus. Oh, life's little let downs...

And all of you Doctor Who fans out there were waiting to hear the whoosh of the TARDIS, weren't you? LOL, I know I was.

I actually enjoyed the news coverage of CERN and found that the scientists there have an awesome sense of humor, there is an emergency bottle of champagne with instructions on it the start with 1) Don't Panic. Oh, and here is a pretty cool article I found:

Library

I went to the library and picked up Going Postal by Terry Pratchett and Persepolis by  Marjane Satrapi. I can't wait to read them! I had to order The Road by Cormac McCarthy, though. I hope they get it in soon.

Oh, and I'm almost done with Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. A retired heavy metal lead-singer being tormented by the ghost of some crazed southern hypnotist is an AWESOME plot.
