Just a few things mostly concerning the deancasbigbang

1. Signs up close on the 15th! :) That's only 2 days away!

2. Upgrades, downgrades and drop-pouts this post is for you. You can jump from mini-bang to big bang or drop out, but please use that post. Note that you can change your mind about mini or big till the first drafts are supposed to go in, so that would be July 7th!

3. Check your e-mail or your lj for the e-mail confirmation that the mods send out! The Big Bang will become a closed community as soon as sign-ups are done, so don't forget to go over there and actually join!

4. We will be getting a new co-mod soon! One of the lovely people from the Big Bang team will come along to help and hopefully make things fun!

And now for some housekeeping for our own angel_steps comm. I know that this makes me look like someone who can't make up their mind, but am "locking" the community again (as it was during spn_j2_bigbang) so it will match deancasbigbang. You will be able to see/comment only if you are member.

You can apply for membership and get it (we are not making anyone jump through hoops here) and as before we ask you not to talk about specific fics/ideas that the writers post outside of this comm.

Hey, fellow bigbangers! How's it going?

I kind of... have a crisis here. See, I've had my fic planned out for months and I've started writing it. I've got almost 10k written though it's not even halfway done but I'm having second thoughts over whether this is a suitable Dean/Cas fic that fits the deancasbigbang requirements.


Now, my fic will eventually be Dean/Castiel but for the majority of it, the only times Cas will even appear are in Dean's flashbacks. In fact, up until the end of the fic, the two main characters will be Dean and Crowley!

Help me, angel_steps!Kenobi! Should I keep writing or should I start scrambling madly for a Plan B?

I am having a plot crisis. By which I mean, I don't know which one to choose. I ended up switching between three different ideas for the spn_j2_bigbang this year, and after having finally settled on one, spent the last 3 weeks frantically writing it. I finished, but dear God above, I didn't have a functioning brain afterward.

So now history is repeating itself, and I'm fluttering between two ideas, which means POLL TIME.



I'm about 3,000 words into each story, I'm just... having a lot of trouble deciding which one to write. 5.22 coda will probably end up being about 30k. 5.04-verse story will be... a beast.

Hello fellow BigBangers. I am stuck.

Like, stuck.

Like, really, really stuck.

Anyone on my FList knows that my D/C BB fic is looking to be a 100-150K long fic, which means I need to get this thing started, like, last week. Unfortunately, I can't get past the first sentence of the first scene of the first chapter. And because of that, my muse is stubbornly refusing to concentrate on anything past it.

This problem is that Dean, whose POV this story is primarily told from, doesn't appear until later in this chapter, or scene. This story ended up set up a little like how an episode of Supernatural is, where there is an attack to open the story up. This means that this first chapter is far shorter than the others.

My current plan is just yanking this scene/chapter out of the story, calling it a prologue, and just writing it from the victim's POV. I know I can get it done like this. I just don't know if it's a good idea. D:

Suggestions needed! Or a ghost writer. ;_;

Hello people, slight changes in rules and such. Made to accommodate the new deancasbigbang!

This is a comm created to support the people who chose to write Dean/Castiel or Dean & Castiel, Misha/Jensen and Misha & Jensen at the spn_j2_bigbang AND the brand new deancasbigbang

Cause we are strange and suffering and honestly we need a 12-step program to help us! No, not to detox, but how to write! :)

You are welcome to join if you are writing a Dean/Castiel story or a story with Dean and Castiel the same goes for Jensen/Misha. Sam is always welcome (but keep the Wincest to minimum, there are other comms for that). If you are a gen writer and wish to join please do so, but keep in mind that we are sort of die hard slashers *g* Shippers, please love the gen people, their Dean and Castiel can be AWESOME! Am I the only one who wishes for more Jensen/Misha fic?

Cheerleaders, betas and long suffering flist people are welcome as well. They are after all the people who keep us sane! :)

As jayfray18 put it: "We need a support group, one that comes complete with alcohol, chocolate, valium and a nice padded cell for the end of April when we realise just how close the deadline is lol!"

Feel free to post anything you want and rant about everything under the sun, after all this comm is supposed to help you write and sometimes in order to get there you have to deal with stuff! :)

The deancasbigbang is a slash/gen fic challenge with accompanying artwork centering around a romantic or strong friendship between Dean/Castiel or Jensen/Misha. The goal is to achieve at least 10k-20k per fic, depending on the track you've applied for.
