Another Powered!Robert au idea, where his power is actually fairly disabling though it helps him survive things.

Robert has an intense healing factor, but his injuries have to be near fatal for it to kick in. He’s not immortal, he could be killed instantly, but he’s way tougher than a normie should be. It’s why he can jump back from torture or crashes and the like and be relatively unharmed.

However, the catch is that when he isn’t injured enough for it to kick in, it acts like an Autoimmune disorder . Not any specific one, he’ll just have random nasty symptoms and sometimes get sick for no reason. With a bonus near constant chronic pain because his cells attack healthy cells and then his power kicks in to heal it so i doesn’t kill him. He has to go to a special Doctor that knows the disorder is super power caused so he can be treated with medicines that actually work.

When they kick in for injuries it works on a range of “This is just the amount to make things chill out for a couple weeks” to “This is too much so your powers have overloaded and you can’t manage to get out of bed the next week.”

Why does he have this power? Because he was grown in a Mad Science Tube by Robbie and Elliot, when they couldn’t get a fetus to stabilize they decided to use the Astral Pulse and for Technobabble reasons it worked to make a Viable Baby but the SciFi radiation it has also gave him super healing. (the super healing is the reason he was able to functionally grow)

inspired by that one post on here where Elliot is his dad but because of tank growing dispatch robert robertson iii disabled but not because of the crash because of the nature that is him also he can regrow some thing but not all. if it's crushed or carterized in a specific manner it's gone.

The thing about Robert "Rock Em Sock Em" Robertson III that you have to remember is that the Mech is there for the villains' safety, not his.

I fully believe that if Flambae had fought Mecha Man sans Mecha, he would still be missing those fingers but this time from the feral bastard that is Robert just not caring if he gets half his face melted off while he bites Flambae's fingers off.

Sure Robert probably would have also gotten fucked up, but Flambae would have come away from that fight with a new sleep paralysis demon and a weird new standard for all future men he dates all in one. The Mecha Man reveal in the game would have ended with Flambae torn between running for his life and actually asking Robert for dinner.

(Honestly Flambae would have taken one look at Robert going feral in the Sardine fight and known right then and there what hero he used to be. Before anyone could even bring up the topic at the taco place Flambae would just be standing there, pointing dramatically before thinking better of it and tucking his fingers as close to his chest as he can, a d loudly freaking out about Robert being Mecha Man.

Robert: I figured you would have tried to incinerate me by now

Flambae: Bitch the last time I tried you ate my fucking fingers, i'm not taking any more chances with your crazy ass

Robert: Yeah, sorry about that, but in my defense, you were trying to kill me at the time

Flambae: Eh, take me to dinner and I'll think about calling us even
