Pity that I don't live in California. Such a buzz kill.

Ok, so Mikey Rhino took it upon himself to make one of the wackiest posts I've seen on the official boards since the release of Clandestine. He posted nothing but three numbers. 2, 4 and 15. Some people are thinking the numbers have to do with the release date of the new album, others are reading into it and thinking it has something to do with a Clandestine theory. Mikey said someone's guess was "warm like the winters." He wouldn't say who, and it looks like he's not going to be dropping us any more hints. I, personally, believe it's a release date.

Thoughts or ideas on what this could possibly mean?

Not too big of a deal, but it has come to my knowledge that Davey and Adam were at the Emmy's! How about that! Here's a picture of them, along with who I wanna say is Davey's brother for the last name, even though I wasn't aware he also took the last name Havok when Davey did :S


Discussion
Davey often says that his songs are not written to have one solid meaning so that his fans could interpret it as they pleased because he knew from experience the disappointment of being wrong when it comes to the understanding of lyrics. For discussion, post what you think "The Great Disappointment" and/or "Six to Eight" means, or rather what you get from it. (the reason I set these songs was so that we could see how our opinions differ on the same topic). Have fun!

The prophet for today!

Pretty much many of these daily posts will be newsless. Aww. However! There can be fun anyway! As I've mentioned, this community will be more than just news, but mostly discussion and fun. Before we get to that, though, let us discuss some community business.

Mod Status:
For those of you who are interested in what is going on as far as who will be soon helping run this community, so far I have 3 applications. Remember, you have till the end of Friday.

How Often?
How often would you like this site to be updated? Please reply with your suggestions. The best or most responded with will be narrowed down to a few so that an official vote can take place, probably a week from now. Till then, expect an update everyday. Some suggestions for ways this can be updated is everyday (which is most ideal to keep the community and AFI spirit alive). If everyday, it would probably best to have at least 4 or 5 members with posting access (2 mods, 1 DF mod, 1 or 2 DF members) so that they can alternate their updates. Another idea is to have something once a week or every 2 or 3 days. Once a month, however, I think is too little, and I know it might be forgotten. So, those are a few ideas out there. If you have a better one, feel free to suggest it :)

AFI Art:
Something I forgot to mention in the introduction post and info page (but I shall add it, soon) is that if you do any piece of art that is directly or indirectly inspired by AFI, we'd love you to share it! This is the same sort of stuff you'd find in the Expressions of AFI board at the OB. So, if you have anything you'd like to submit (drawings, videos, poetry, prose, etc), feel free to send a link to me or (as soon as they are decided) one of the mods. This will be a good way to share the joy of AFI amongst each other :)

What's better than this website? Many of you may already know about it, Davey-On-A-Stick offers some of the greatest bits of humor on the net about AFI. Filled with funny images and jokes, it is a site made by a couple of girls who go by the names Izzy and Bob. Davey, himself, has been here and had this to say about it: "I just don't get it..." An enjoyable site for fans and non-fans alike, here it is:

I know that some of you who are in the Despair Faction are interested in being our DF insider mod. I can't really just pick one, so I shall have all applicants fill out a form and I'll decide based on that. Never fear, though. I'm considering giving posting access to some who do not make mod, so that while you don't have mod powers, you can still help keep this community going with info! Now on to the form

Some light rumor discussion

In respect to yesterday's post, here are some arguments and corrections made to the rumor of AFI's next album to drop March 4th, 2006 and other related matters:

applehate:They're looking for a Jan/Feb release. And will be touring with Bleeding Through and Himsa when the album comes out. Ryan Wilson was recently in LA doing back up vocals for them.

forever_tragedy:Davey never said that they were touring with Bleeding Through and Himsa. Someone asked him that and he said he knew nothing about it, but it would be awesome.

applehate:Davey didn't but Brandan did. My friend was at the Bleeding Through show and asked him about it, and he said that they would be. Since BT and AFI's CDs are coming out around the same time.

dawn_breaks:Yeah, I know they're looking for a very late fall, early winter release date. Sounds better than March, anyway.
