In which I say "yes" to Kame's crazy

Thanks to D-addicts, I was able to watch Kame's newest drama, Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge.
... Has anyone seen this, yet?  My thoughts can be summarized thusly:
"Holy Opening Theme Song, Batman!"
"If you were hoping for a more serious version of the manga storyline... turn back now."
"As useful as subs could be, I don't think it'll clear any of this up.  That plothole could mire a spaceship."
"JE crossdressing!  Heck, yeah!"  And,
"Take notes, fangirls.  This is the how-to guide for stalking Kame."

I'm pretty sure subs will be up, like, faster than thought, but I will continue to watch this with or without because, darnit! It's growing on me.

And for my random torrent adventure, also through d-addicts, I started watching OL Nippon.  I'm not sure if subs exist, but you really don't need them.
A company is being outsourced by foriegn countries (or something like that) and so, two young Chinese workers come to Japan to learn the ropes of the company.  Good old language/cultural barriers, women in the workforce and all those other interesting topics.  I'm surprised how much I like this drama, probably because I can empathize with the whole 'trying to get people to understand my bad japanese' thing.  I expected it to be funny, but the drama treats those situations a lot more earnestly than I thought they would.  Still, I think Japanese people are a whole lot more forgiving to white people's broken Japanese than they are to Chinese people's.  Which is kind of the point of the show.  And my roomate's pleased that I am learning new chinese words, even if I can't get her to watch it with me.  I kinda wonder what Chinese people think of this drama.
It's got Minami from Yukan Club, which is a little bit ironic, considering the topic.

笑いが止まらない~!

I went to work tonight only to get sent home less than two hours after I got there because they couldn't afford to pay me. I have a lot of homework I could be doing, and a test I could be studying for. I decide to screw around with my tablet. I obviously need to find a way to properly allocate my time.

Also a new job.

I have no idea where these pictures came from, but they were damn cute >.>....

I know at least two of us have been bitten by Star Trek fever since the new movie came out, so here's a question I've been thinking about since I discovered that apparently there wasn't going to be a Japanese dub of it and also I can't get the idea of Vulcan!Yamapi out of my head.

Who would you cast for a Japanese version of Star Trek?

I think...er... whatshername, Eri from Last Friends would be a good Uhura. And Massu would probably be adorable as Chekov XD I can't think of a good Kirk, though. Maybe Ryo? Jin?

What do you guys think? Can you tell I'm bored at work?

Oh! And! The cast of Star Trek is now officially connected to the the J-drama world, because apparently Anton Yelchin (Chekov) has a cameo in that "Nakushita Kioku" movie, which also stars Maki, Tego, and L. There was a clip on ontd_startrek a week or two ago, but I'm afraid to go to that comm while I'm at work XDD I'll link it later.

In the vein of uploading

Yeah to Katie, for providing me with yet another season of dramas to waste my time with!  Woot! In that spirit, here's what I've been killing time with on the internet...
Morimoto's Stalker Someone's stalking the Hey!Say!Choir! ... poor kid... this is a pretty interesting news report after the cell phone thief was caught, we learn some great new words and some of the rules for being a Johnny's fan.
way of life PV.  I sometimes forget that V6 is in Johnny's.  Or that they exist.  But this song is starting to grow on me.
PV and Making of Rescue KAT-TUN gets backup chicks!!  And Ueda's pretty happy about it.  The band also tries to use the making to "up their image" with varying amounts of success.  As for the PV itself... It's actually good, and it's been so long since I've seen KATTUN do anything good without an equal amount of suck involved...
Yuuki This was a two-part drama made around 24-hr terebi (I think it was kattun's year) and stars Kame as a young man who gets a desiease where his bones start dissolving.  There's a lot to like... but there's also a lot to cry about, so watcher beware.
Whew!  That was fun!

It seems lately [ do nothing but work and watch concerts... what a great summer!!!
This week's choice was Queen of Pirates, from JPOPSUKI Tracker, and it's the kind of special we've come to expect from them...
Basically, KAT-TUN unwittingly ends the debate of Pirates vs Ninjas... brief summaryCollapse )
Other points of interest:  Random appearance of Yamapi, and mikes that double as fire extinguishers!
Also fro JPOPSUKI tracker is the 2008-2009 countdown!  Only a few months too late.  Kind of a cool thing going on with the main concert at the Dome, Koichi hosting another concert in Osaka, and the two communicating by video streaming.  Looks like the Hey!Say!Choir! is not quite old enough to be out working so late, as they dissapeard partway through the concert and a few reappeared later in the audience.  And Jin does not know the Daitai Seniorita dance. (Isn't that a staple of his agency?)
