Comparison of robotic simulators

edit

The list of robotic simulator on this page is mostly useless (outdated, incomplete, inaccurate, does not reflect the maturity/importance of the different simulators in the community, etc...)

Comparison of Robotic Simulators is an on-going attempt at consolidating a serious comparison of robotic simulators. Please consider contributing to it. Skadge (talk) 15:37, 22 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Edit COI: request to add ENCY Robot to the “Simulators” table

edit

I propose adding "ENCY Robot" (an OLP/robotics simulator by ENCY Software) to the **General information** table. Independent sources:

Proposed wikitext (table row):

Not done for now: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. I can't get the proposed code to work immediately. Could you please perhaps create a "mockup" of what the table would look like with your proposed changes (perhaps in User:Aency/sandbox)? Cheers, GoldRomean (talk) 04:54, 9 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, @GoldRomean:. To keep the request narrow and verifiable, I’m proposing only one change in the *Simulators → General information* table (append a single row for “ENCY Robot”) and not touching the other tables for now, as we don’t yet have independent sources for those columns. Here is the exact “change X → Y” plus a working mockup.
Change: append the following row (keeping alphabetical order if preferred):
|-
| ENCY Robot<ref>{{cite web |title=ENCY Software, DAMRC partner for robotic machining technologies |website=Engineering.com |date=2025-03-17 |url=https://www.engineering.com/ency-software-damrc-partner-for-robotic-machining-technologies/ |access-date=2025-10-09}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |title=Cooperation between ENCY Software and DAMRC: Advances in robot-assisted machining |website=3Printr |date=2025-03-17 |url=https://www.3printr.com/cooperation-between-ency-software-and-damrc-advances-in-robot-assisted-machining-4279449/ |access-date=2025-10-09}}</ref>

| –
| –
| Windows<ref>{{cite web |title=Download ENCY CAD/CAM Software |website=encycam.com |url=https://encycam.com/download/ |access-date=2025-10-09}}</ref>
Mockup (renders correctly): User:Aency/sandbox#Robotics-sim-mockup
If maintainers prefer that related tables are updated simultaneously, I can prepare minimal entries there as well, limited to verifiable fields (e.g., License/Platforms) and leave non-sourced fields blank (“–”). Thanks!

Thank you! However, @Aency, was all or part of this request generated by artificial intelligence /LLM? GoldRomean (talk) 04:46, 12 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
@GoldRomean: I used limited tooling to help with wikitext formatting and wording. I’ve followed the AI-generated content guideline.

Thanks for letting me know! (For the record and by the way, the page you linked is a proposed guideline, not an official one yet.) GoldRomean (talk) 17:07, 14 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
