I would be happy to! Your best bet would be to learn what language to avoid on Wikipedia is a whole. A good starting point for you would be to read these policies:
"Alpaca’s main offering is a developer-focused, API-first platform for stock, options, fixed income, and crypto trading, designed to empower both institutions and individual traders to build and scale financial applications."
Wikipedia prides itself on being a neutral source of unbiased information. It is not a place for advertising or promotion. This includes the language and tone of articles about businesses. Words like "offering" and "empower" should not be used.
Thanks. I've made several edits and I see several other users have as well. I believe any promotional sounding text has been resolved. Could you have a quick read through and see if we can remove the promo flag? DFujikawa (talk) 15:21, 11 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
It has definitely improved and I cleaned up the tag to reflect that, but it is still in need of work. This is not an insult on the work that you did to put the article together, it is just the standard that goes into making the articles on Wikipedia what they are - an encyclopedic look at the business.
I did go through and removed or tweaked some of the language that didn't reflect an encyclopedic tone. I would encourage you to review the changes and then make any further adjustments that could help continue to improve the tone. The tag will draw attention from the community that may come in and assist with the effort.
Also, on a side note, the citations in the lead need to be heavily trimmed or removed. If all of the information in the lead is covered in the body, is cited there, and is not controversial, a single citation or no citation at all is acceptible.MOS:LEADCITE
I've made several more edits, as have various community members. Could you advise on if there is anything remaining that would prevent us from removing the promo flag? DFujikawa (talk) 15:09, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
As best I can tell, the article no longer reads as promotional so I'm going to review the promo flag. Let me know if you spot anything that might come across as promotional and I can address it. DFujikawa (talk) 18:47, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
Its much better than it was before. I can't say that it's "perfect" so there may be more work that someone finds. I also can't necessarily identify every thing someone may find wrong with it but I'll always do my best to lend a hand. Se7enNationArmy2024 (talk) 19:52, 17 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
