Gameplay
editInvincible VS is a fighting game based around teams of three characters, which players can tag between during battle.[3] Players will be able to perform an "active tag", switching characters in the middle of a combo to continue attacking.[3] Players can also perform a "counter tag", allowing them to escape a combo during an active tag if performed correctly.[3] The game includes a cinematic story mode, along with arcade and training modes.[4] The game will support local and online multiplayer with rollback netcode.[3]
Characters
editThe game is set to feature 18 playable characters at launch, with four additional characters planned as downloadable content. One of these characters, Ella Mental, was created for the game in collaboration with series creators Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.[1]
Development and release
editInvincible VS is the first game developed by Quarter Up, a Los Angeles-based[9] studio founded by several members of the development team behind Killer Instinct (2013).[10] Quarter Up is the first in-house development studio under publisher Skybound Games.[4] Members of the animated series' voice cast reprise their roles for the game, including Steven Yeun as Invincible and J.K. Simmons as Omni-Man.[11]
The game was announced on June 8, 2025 during the Xbox Summer Showcase livestream.[12] It is currently scheduled to be released on April 30, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X and S.[13][1]
