TheFork Manager is a restaurant management software platform developed by TheFork, a TripAdvisor company. The software provides reservation management and operational tools for restaurants across Europe, Latin America, and Australia.
History
editTheFork originated from LaFourchette, a French restaurant reservation platform founded in 2007.[1] In May 2014, TripAdvisor acquired LaFourchette for approximately $140 million and adopted the unified brand name "TheFork".[2] In February 2021, Almir Ambeskovic was appointed CEO.[3]
Operations
editAs of 2024, TheFork Manager serves over 55,000 restaurants globally, including approximately 2,500 Michelin-starred establishments.[4][5]
The platform operates as a cloud-based service providing real-time reservation management, table planning, guest relationship tools, and operational analytics. It is accessible via web and mobile applications for iOS and Android.[6][7]
The software includes automated confirmation messages, reconfirmation protocols, and no-show tracking. In 2024, TheFork implemented a policy deactivating user accounts that accumulate four no-shows within a 12-month period.[8]
In 2020, TheFork became the official booking platform of the Michelin Guide.[9]
Latest updates
editIn 2025, TheFork Manager continued to evolve to make restaurant management simpler, more reliable, and increasingly mobile-first. With 60% of traffic now coming from smartphones and tablets, the app was enriched with new mobile features, smarter notifications, faster actions, and smoother booking flows, driving a +13% increase in app usage.
The new booking widget boosted direct, commission-free reservations, with widget adoption up +24% and bookings via this channel up +83%.
Strong progress was also made in the fight against no-shows, reaching a record-low average rate of 2.6% thanks to enhanced policies, credit card pre-authorisation, and predictive tools.
The launch of TheFork Call transformed phone reservations by saving time and enabling more personalised guest interactions.
Finally, deeper Instagram integration helped restaurants better manage their social presence, amplify reviews and recognitions, and track their digital growth directly from the platform.[10]
