MDC Precision (hereinafter MDC, commercial register entry: MDC Precision LLC), is a U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in precision equipment and components related to vacuum technology, vacuum valves, ultra-high purity materials fabrication, and ceramic-to-metal sealed components. Founded in 1975, the company has its headquarters in Hayward, California, and operates additional facilities in Sarasota, Florida; Pflugerville, Texas, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom; and Ho Chih Minh City, Viet Nam.[1] Our customers rely on us to provide the precision solutions that are required for operation at the atomic scale. Our products are critical to systems that produce the leading-edge semiconductors, feedthroughs that meet the demands of space, imaging systems that must see at the sub-atomic level – all to enable science to change the world for the better.
History
editMichael Del Castello founded the company in Hayward, California, USA in 1975 to serve the growing vacuum-industry market with high quality vacuum components at faster delivery and reasonable price. [2] Over time the company expanded its product portfolio, acquiring Insulator Seal Inc. (ISI), a ceramic-to-metal bonding company located in Sarasota, Florida in the 1990’s. Not long after that MDC acquired gas-delivery systems manufacturer ITW Semisystems to expand into the Ultra High Purity weldment segment. [3] In 2016 MDC established its international footprint – acquiring vacuum technology manufacturer CVT in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.[4] In 2021, MDC rebranded to MDC Precision LLC, to reflect its expanding portfolio beyond vacuum technology. Also in 2021, MDC announced expanding its manufacturing footprint with a new factory in Pflugerville, Texas. In 2022 MDC expanded its international footprint by adding a new factory in Hi Chih Minh City, Viet Nam to serve its growing Asia customer base.[5] In 2022, MDC established a new site in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, expanding its manufacturing footprint in Asia.[6]
