History

Datarize was founded in 2019 by Seongmoo Kim, Gyumin Lee, and Minsung Park in Seoul. The three founders previously worked together at SK Telecom before establishing their first joint company, NumberWorks, an ecommerce analytics startup created in 2015. NumberWorks was later acquired by Kakao Corporation.[1]

The company introduced its CRM and analytics platform for ecommerce merchants in 2021.[2] In 2022, Datarize expanded its user base in South Korea and secured Series A funding amounting to approximately US$8.2 million.[3]

In 2024, the company began international expansion efforts, including a launch on Shopify and entry into the Japanese and North American markets. In the same year, it raised a Series B round of approximately US$10.7 million.[4]

In 2025, the company was listed as a nominee for the “Best AI-Driven Marketing Solution” category at the Vendors in Partnership (VIP) Awards, held alongside the National Retail Federation’s annual event in the United States.[5]

Datarize develops CRM tools used by ecommerce merchants to analyze customer behavior and run automated marketing campaigns.

Campaign tools: The platform integrates with channels such as email, SMS, KakaoTalk, Line, and onsite pop-ups. It uses users behavioral data to create audience segments and trigger automated messages based on metrics such as purchase likelihood and churn probability.[6] Analytics tools: Datarize’s analytics features include funnel analysis, cohort tracking, and segmentation based on visit and purchase patterns. The platform provides performance dashboards intended to help merchants evaluate conversion trends and customer activity.[7]
