ZAGNY
Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York
Representing the Zarathushti community in the tri-state region of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
About ZAGNY
The Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York (ZAGNY) is a vibrant community dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the Zoroastrian faith and heritage. Founded in 1973, ZAGNY brings together Zoroastrians from the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state area through religious services, cultural events, educational programs, and charitable initiatives. With a spirit of unity and service, ZAGNY welcomes all generations to connect, learn, and uphold the timeless values of Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds.
About Zoroastrianism
Zoroastrianism is one of the world’s oldest known religions, founded by the Prophet Zarathustra (Zoroaster) over 3,000 years ago in ancient Persia. Centered on the worship of Ahura Mazda, the Wise Lord, Zoroastrianism teaches a path of truth, righteousness, and personal responsibility. Its core principles—Good Thoughts, Good Words, and Good Deeds—have inspired generations to live ethically and in harmony with creation. Though small in numbers today, Zoroastrians continue to sustain a rich spiritual and cultural legacy across the globe.
About Our Dar-E-Mehr
The Arbab Rustam Guiv Dar-E-Mehr is the spiritual and cultural heart of the ZAGNY community. Opened in 2016 in Pomona, New York, this beautifully designed center provides a welcoming space for worship services, religious classes, cultural programs, and community gatherings. It stands as a testament to our shared heritage and the vision of bringing Zoroastrians together under one roof to celebrate, learn, and strengthen our bonds.

ZAGNY and FEZANA
ZAGNY is a founding and very active member of the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA), the umbrella organization that connects Zoroastrian communities across the United States and Canada. Established in 1987, FEZANA promotes the study, understanding, and practice of the Zoroastrian religion, supports cultural preservation, encourages youth engagement, and coordinates charitable initiatives worldwide.
ZAGNY is also a proud supporter of the Zoroastrian Youth of North America (ZYNA), FEZANA’s dynamic youth body dedicated to empowering the next generation through leadership, service, and meaningful connections. Through FEZANA and ZYNA, ZAGNY works to strengthen our shared heritage and foster unity among Zoroastrians across North America.
Building Connections
ZAGNY proudly collaborates with a range of local, national, and international organizations to strengthen our community, celebrate our heritage, and create opportunities for learning and engagement. Together, we share a commitment to preserving and promoting the Zoroastrian faith and culture around the world.
