OverviewEdit
The Insect Type is depicted mainly as bugs, including true insects, arachnids, and similar creatures. Some of them are also based on invertebrates in general, like worms. Their shapes and forms range from somewhat realistic insects (such as "Reed Butterfly"), over humanoid ones ("Insect Knight"), to much more fantastical and weird insectoids (such as "Minar"). A few Insect monsters are humans wearing armor with an insect motif (such as the "Inzektor" archetype and "Mitsu the Insect Ninja"). The most common Attributes associated with Insect monsters are EARTH and WIND, although there are members for every single Attribute in the game, bar DIVINE.
Insects are a versatile and somewhat well-supported Type that goes back to the early history of the game. The Type contains a lot of low-Level monsters with powerful utility effects, which typically act like their namesake by swarming the field and replacing themselves when removed. A number of Insect support cards promote hybridization with Plant monsters. This is taken a step further by the "Ragnaraika" archetype, mixing in Reptiles to form a trio.

IconsEdit
These are icons used to represent the Insect Type in various video games. They all depict a generic beetle, usually black. Beetles are notably among the most diverse group of insects (and animals overall).
