Things going in and out of my brain
Just an odd collection of things that got my attention today:
1) Jane Espenson wants to work for FNL next. I find myself unsurprised by this given its writing reputation. Also, I would guess she wants to move in and out of genre shows so that's a better choice than, say, Heroes (which I'm not sure she's mentioned on her blog yet). If you want to hear a Q&A Jane just did it's here (spoilers for BSG S3 finale).
2) Supernatural is the show most watched by families on any network. Color me surprised, as my first thought wouldn't be that it was family viewing. OTOH, there's probably few shows on TV as centered on family as this one, so...food for thought.
3) Firefly a hit in space. Have to say the photos made me smile.

spn_j2_bigbang has to be the most amazing ficathon ever -- novellas (with artwork!) at a time when longer stories don't get written as much. I've only gotten to a few of the stories so far but they've been really engaging. I'm still seeing longer stories in the Buffyverse but generally they're series that have been going on a while and have thus developed a high page count. To have a whole bunch of them rolling out one right after the other? Pretty awesome.
