A cut and paste review for some of you lazies! ;p
Being a fan of the Xenogears series, I was quite concerned with the Xenosaga Project. How could you possibly make a game better than one that has such nostalgia attached to it as Xenogears?
Xenosaga III has answered that question.
Through all the twist and turns of the series: it's rocky sequel, Xenosaga II, and its epic beginning in Xenosaga I, Xenosaga III should be heralded as one of the best RPG's to date. Its simplified battle system makes it easier for those who don't usually play RPG's to enjoy the game. The music is the best music in a game since Final Fantasy VII, and its themes resound throughout the game. Yuki Kajiura has done a fantastic job capturing the emotion and spirituality of the series in her compositions. The graphics are unbelievably vivid, and are more stylized. This makes the characters especially unique since they are a mix of Episode I & II's styles. Not only that, but I was highly satisfied with how the loosed ends of the series were addressed. Now, if we could only get ONE more sequel...
The Xenosaga series continues to shine in comparison to its rivals, and it would be a mistake not to play this game. Any self-respecting RPG player should at least give this game a try.
You can change the Yuki part if you don't like her music, or the gears part or whatever; it's just there for inspiration and convenience! ^_____^
ALSO, Game Informer gave Xenosaga III an 8.5; only second to "Saints Row"; one of those Grand Theft Auto clones, so you knew it was going to get a high score in America.... *Sigh*
On a brighter note, Dirge Of Cerberus only got a 6.75! So, WE ROCK!
(My apologies to DoC fans...)
Some points from the Review:
-->No CG this time, but the in-game models and environments are still beautiful. The final dungeon in particular looks amazing.
-->The score is very hit and miss, but great voice work moves the story along.
(That's funny, because I've heard the exact opposite...)
-->"...nearly recaptures the glory of the first Xenosaga."
Their words, not mine! ^___^

Woohoo
