I don't think Qifrey is going to be freed of the Silverwood in the end. And I don't mean that in an angsty treefry sort of way, but as people far better with words and dissecting symbolism have pointed out the Silverwood works really well as a manifestation of trauma.
And you don't just carve trauma out of your body like a tumor, you can't just ignore and neglect it and expect it to not continue to be an ever looming force in your life.
Instead I think Qifrey is going to have to learn to live with it and care for it, care for himself, tend to it as he does his garden, maybe even literally.
