Ahhh, I can't believe I got this wipbigbang art claim done, and on time! This piece kicked my ass and it's not quite what I envisioned but it still came out pretty cool if I do say so myself. Oh hey, sorry this is a billion late but for WIP Big Bang I did a pinch hit for "We're at the lost and found" by mercurialkitty, which you can find here. It has a lot of great imagery, so much so that in my first draft I couldn't decide what to draw so I had a bunch of the torn out pages also in this drawing, but it turned out to be way beyond my skill level, so I settled for what I have now. I definitely wanted to include two of the major Cas characterization moments, which is what we have here. Weirdly I've never drawn SPN before I don't think? Anywho this is probably the hardest thing I've ever drawn but I'm happy with it, though once again the camera doesn't do it justice.

Oh hey! I originally signed up to write for WIP Bang and this year I did actually finish (!), but I decided not to publish for various reasons. I still wanted to participate so I signed up for art and ended up with this cool fic by spikedluv, which you can find here! I wanted to draw the Nemeton in both timelines to show the contrast, and I had a black canvas I wanted to experiment with so I cut it and a white canvas in half and stitched them together (which was NOT easy), which gave the present-day panel an eerily bright quality. I personally think it looks much better in person, but you'll have to take my word for it :P I've included a banner version and the original drawing.

(LJ deleted my work and I had to start over, keeping it classy) I always end up in the strangest places for smallfandombang, and this Round I watched Power Rangers for the first time, which was an experience. For the second year in a row, I've been paired with the wonderful noxelementalist, whose fic you can find here! There was plenty of good material to work from, but I decided to keep it simple and just draw their little plaids. Why I thought plaid would be simple is beyond me considering how unforgiving coloured pencil can be, but I did learn a lot about topography and how not to draw carpet! I've included a banner version and the original drawing.

Oh wow, so for like the first time possibly ever I finished an art project long before it was due!! I had a blast making this for smallfandombang, despite having to restart Butchy's letter like 30 times and fighting with my printer. Because the letters in noxelementalist's fic, which you can find here, are described in such detail, I went ahead and wrote them out. Things I learned way too much about in researching for this project: 20th century handwriting instruction (including Palmer, Zaner-Bloser, and D'Nealian scripts), motor oil, Kodachrome, 60s food fads, ballpoint pens, kawaii culture (specifically the historical emergence of dotting i's with hearts-- it starts later than this period if you were curious). I'm honestly surprised it turned out as well as it did because my regular handwriting's atrocious, also it is REALLY HARD writing like someone else, let alone three people (well, two-and-a-half, Giggles' is just mine but neater and slightly more period). Also this gave me a chance to mess around with VSCO's new Kodachrome filter which is uncannily accurate. ANYWHO, the first pic is the actual submission, the rest are detail shots of the letters.
