Three years ago today, Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since then, the people of Ukraine have suffered immeasurably.
I visited Ukraine myself last year, and saw firsthand the devastation caused by the ongoing conflict.
I spoke in Parliament today to highlight the impact on local families of delays to EHCP assessments. I also asked for an update on plans to increase support for teachers given the current SEND crisis.
🚨 A lost generation of children with special education needs and disabilities could leave school without having received the help they need.
The Government must take action to improve a system which is failing families.

I am saddened to hear of the death of Baroness Randerson. Deeply committed to devolution, Jenny was also incredibly generous with her time and support to me when I was first elected, for which I will always be grateful. My thoughts are with her family.
Diolch o’r galon Jenny.
I’m delighted to hear that my colleague Mo Fayyaz has been listed in the New Year Honours today with a BEM for services to Chesham. This is well deserved and reflects his dedication to the local community. Congratulations, Mo!
I was appalled to hear that they are still not able to say for sure how much this project will cost the taxpayer, and that they even disagree among themselves as to how the costs should be calculated.
In Bucks, we have seen for ourselves that the HS2 project has lacked oversight and transparency. I will continue to hold HS2 Ltd and the Government to account for the appalling mismanagement of this project.
🎄If you're squeezing in some last-minute Xmas shopping, please consider buying from one of our many hard-working local businesses. I've been particularly inspired by the video produced by residents & businesses in Chalfont St Peter, and their recent campaign to #choosechalfont
I am deeply disappointed by today's Government announcement that WASPI women will receive no compensation at all. I feel for those who have long been campaigning for justice on this issue - they have been let down today.
Yesterday, I asked the Government what they are doing to recruit and retain more educational psychologists to help reduce the amount of time children and young people are waiting for an EHCP assessment
Yesterday I met with local farmers to talk about their opposition to the Government’s decision to change inheritance tax rules. It brings further strain to an already struggling industry.
We need a diverse and thriving farming community and for those who know the land to continue managing it for all our benefit. The government have got this one badly wrong.
This week I joined Liberal Democrat colleagues in calling on the Chancellor to exempt those providing vital health and care services from the rise in Employer National Insurance contributions.
Today, I questioned the Prime Minister on the protection of important chalk stream rivers.
While I am pleased that there will be tougher powers more generally, I would like to see a special protection for these unique ecosystems.
