    I think what they meant to say was: when all this is over, we will give all those NHS foreign doctors, nurses and paramedics citizenship!

    The Home Office says NHS doctors, nurses and paramedics with UK work visas due to expire before 1 October will have them automatically extended for a year so they can "focus on fighting coronavirus"

    My decision! I hope people will accept that it has been reached after a lot of soul searching and on the basis of what I think is best for the country and my constituents. I hope we can avoid the bile and abuse on both sides which has characterised this debate.

    Come on @theresa_may, a little boy’s life is at risk. No need for Home Office to ‘carefully consider’ allowing Billy Caldwell to have his cannabis oil. Just let him have it NOW and then legalise medicinal cannabis as first step toward rational drug policy

    Scandalous case of Dr Furaha Asani, a young academic who came to this country with a full scholarship to do a PHD and has done cardiovascular research at Leicester Uni, who is now being deported to the DRC - where she has never even visited. This is outrageous and inhumane.
