There's nothing like stepping into a different era to get some studying done 📚 Housed inside the Main Building, the Life Science Library holds nearly a century of history and has remained one of the most unique study environments on the Forty Acres. Read more about how this
A young woman with long blonde hair in a black top types on a pink laptop at a large wooden table. White earbuds are nearby. She's in a grand library with tall windows, bookshelves filled with books, and decorative chandeliers overhead.
Modern concrete building with grid windows stands against a clear blue sky. A grassy hill with trees slopes up to it, dappled with shade. Overhead, green tree branches frame the scene. A person in a dark shirt & orange cap stands on the right.
Black and white photo of a large library reading room. Numerous students, predominantly young adults, are seated at long wooden tables, reading and studying. Tall windows line the left wall, and bookshelves are in the background. Inscribed text is visible on the dark ceiling beams.
A grand room features a high ceiling with ornate wooden beams and modern circular chandeliers. Tall windows show blue sky and buildings. Long wooden tables & chairs fill the space, flanked by bookshelves. Two people are present, one at a table on the right, another on the left.

Thankful for Dr. Claudia @LucchinettiMD's outstanding leadership as we build an academic medical center unlike any in the world. Designed to be AI-enabled from the start, it will transform care, accelerate discovery, educate medical leaders, and serve Texans for generations.

Using campus as our canvas 🎨
An ornate Victorian-style brick building, bathed in warm golden light, features multiple turrets with intricate finials and patterned shingle roofs. The sky above is an abstract pattern of sweeping, concentric curves in shades of orange and brown, creating a unique backdrop.
An ornate arched hallway features a vibrant blue, gold, and white mosaic ceiling with classical motifs. Two antique lanterns hang from the arches. Stone pillars line the hall, and a decorative wooden door with intricate ironwork is seen on the right. Green trees are visible through an arch.
A white building with colorful square windows and a brown door stands in a plaza. A person sits on a bench in front. In the background, a large beige building and a curved white structure with orange, blue, and green stripes are visible.
A vibrant red abstract sculpture stands on a grassy hill. Long, curved red and orange light streaks traverse the twilight scene, with a bright yellow-orange trail near the bottom. A brick building and a small moon are visible in the muted sky.

Summer in Austin: Texas Capitol Building 🧡🏛️ Just a short walk from the Forty Acres, the Texas State Capitol is one of the city's must-visit landmarks. Explore the historic building, take a free guided tour, and stroll the beautiful Capitol grounds. 🏛️🤘
Stone Texas State Capitol building under a blue sky. Its ornate dome is topped with a statue. The US & Texas flags fly from the building, with a green tree & lamppost nearby. A white Texas outline w/ a star graphic is in the upper left.
Interior view looking up into an ornate dome with light cream and gold architectural details. Concentric rings of decorative patterns, including rectangles and circles, radiate from a dark central oculus. Light streams in from visible arched windows around the dome's base.
A large bronze five-pointed star is embedded in a light pinkish-beige granite surface. Around the star, individual bronze letters spell 'TEXAS'. The granite forms a circular design, bordered by darker grey paving stones.
The dome of a grand building under a clear blue sky, framed by green leaves. An American flag and a Texas flag fly below a white statue of a woman holding a star, perched atop the dome. The building is made of reddish-brown stone.

Nearly 90 years ago, workers built the UT Tower floor by floor to be a symbol of our University’s greatness. Today, scaffolding once again reaches the top as we restore our beloved landmark. This is a strong reminder of the enduring excellence that we always strive for at UT.
The UT Tower, almost entirely covered in scaffolding for renovation, rises against a clear blue sky with scattered white clouds. The Tower's top features a clock with a golden face and a classical belfry. Large green trees frame the foreground, with other buildings visible to the right.
Black and white photo of the University of Texas Main Building and Library under construction on December 28, 1935. The tall steel frame of the Tower rises above the classical lower sections. Text names architects Paul P. Cret, R. L. White, and contractors W. S. Bellows.

Before online catalogs, getting a library book at UT meant filling out a paper slip, waiting for staff to retrieve it from the Tower, and sometimes relying on workers on roller skates. 🛼📚 A hidden piece of that system was recently rediscovered, revealing a fascinating chapter
Sepia-toned photo of a grand, empty hall with a highly ornate ceiling featuring patterned beams and numerous inscribed inspirational quotes. A polished wooden floor reflects light from tall windows with blinds along one wall. Empty bookshelves line the lower walls.
B&W photo of a 'LIBRARY BUILDING' under construction, dated 'Nov. 29, 1932'. Two large structures with steel frames and stone walls, surrounded by materials, workers, and an old truck.
Sepia photo of a bustling construction site with two large, multi-story steel frameworks. The left building has several workers on its lower floors, while the right building shows a complex steel skeletal structure. Debris and wooden planks are scattered across the dusty ground.
Black and white photo of two large, light-colored stone buildings with tiled roofs. The building on the right has a classical facade with large arched windows. Behind it, a taller, multi-story building features vertical rows of smaller windows. A road and sparse landscaping are in the foreground.
