- Please say hello to Austronaga, an aquatic trachelosaurid from Triassic Asia. In a new OA paper published yesterday in Science Advances, Wang and colleagues presented a description of a COMPLETE Austronaga, which preserves the oldest complete digestive tract of any reptile!
- This Thursday’s episode of Surviving Earth dealt with GABI (the Great American Biotic Interchange). I was entrusted with designing several animals including the gigantic ground sloth Eremotherium eomigrans. I am really fond of ground sloths and I really love reconstructing them
- Let me introduce you to Tametara mirim, a basal cretaceous snake from South America that was likely fossorial. It is known from a beautifully preserved and articulated specimen that includes a skull! If you know anything about snake fossils you will know that is VERY rare.
