- Replying to @MayorofLondonMet officers are working hard to arrest thieves and dismantle criminal gangs, leading to 13,000 fewer phone thefts in London over the last year. Thanks to my record funding, we’ve also doubled officers in the West End - cutting phone thefts there by 50%.
- Mobile phone crime won’t be solved by policing alone. It also needs coordinated action from industry. Having already seen the advanced security features introduced by Google and Samsung, I welcome the new agreement between Apple and the Met to protect mobile phone users.
