Largely I鈥檝e found that women claim to want a man to be open, but are also very quickly frustrated with the idea of doing emotional work with their partner. This might be partially due to the particular woman鈥檚 internal blockages, but I think it鈥檚 also due to the inherent narrative that because men are a privileged class they don鈥檛 really deserve help from people who are considered less privileged.
This is just my own experience with it, and conversations with people trying to coax out the idea that this is an issue that men experience at all.
