The Weekly Dare Banner
THE WEEKLY DARE IS BACK!
and it might kind of appear randomly now. Heh.
Anyways. I've done research and have learned of a thing called "legend trips."
Or pilgrimages to places where there are eerie legends.
So these will be mixed in as dares!
THIS WEEK'S DARE IS: -drum roll-

The Hornet Spook Light Dare
The Hornet Spook Light Dare.
"Twelve miles southwest of Joplin, Missouri, an obscure paved road runs through a open patch of countryside. This nearly forgotten track runs across the Oklahoma border but is only about four miles long. Nearby is the former border village of Hornet, and close to that is the site of what once was a spook light museum. The place is remote and far from civilization, so why do so many people come here?" - Troy Taylor

The jersey devil legend

Okay so I was just watching Monster Quest on the History channel, and it was all about the New Jersey devil. Basically just talked about all the many different eye witness stories, how the legend came to be and stuff like that. Do you guys believe that something like this creature exists? Or has anyone ever experienced something like the "New Jersey devil"?
I remember my mom telling me a story about how she once saw the "Chupacabra" when she was a child, and she described it like all the others have. Black huge wings, red eyes, and she remembers that it was purched on top of a building just starring at the window. Then flew away after a minute. I'm really interested in your stories and opinions about the legend of the jersey devil.

Creating A Paranormal Panic Room

This post, whilst useful to the more experienced practitioner of a given magickal path, is geared towards those who through scepticism or lack of experience might have genuine problems in dealing with the sometimes far from subtle energies which can be released whilst dabbling in the occult. I make no judgements on those who would willingly put themselves in danger in this way, be it through resurrecting old urban legends or seeking to summon the dead for kicks through such tools as the ouija or planchette, and only seek to help equip them with the knowledge which might aid their survival should the worst happen and they awaken something that would have been far better off being left asleep.

The Weekly Dare: 2/19 - Bloody Mary.

We are starting a new weekly event here at x_cursed.
It's called the Weekly Dare, and it will give you information about something supernatural.
We will try to make it so it is a ritual, or something that you can "do," if you will.
If you have an interesting experience, post an entry about it. :D
A dare will be posted every thursday, respectively.
PLEASE NOTE: Partake in these 'dares' at your OWN risk. We are not liable if you are harmed or become possessed or something. Just remember, be careful! :D And just like sex, always use protection. (:
And most of all, have fun! ^_^
I also will try to make a graphic for each week with the dare, just to keep track, and look awesome.

Just click on the cut-thing below the graphic for information.

Hawooooww

Hey.
I don't have a ouija board story because I haven't diddled with one in 7 years for reason that are a mix between not believing in them and be absolutely terrified of them.

However. I was wondering if anyone had stories/experiences with such urban myths as Bloody Mary. Also, on the hauntings community someone had posted their experience with One Man Hide and Seek..was wondering if anyone else messed around with that.

Or I guess in general anyone fiddle with those type of urban myths?

another ouija board story...

I know that there's already been some Ouija Board stories told, but figured I'd tell mine. xD Just to get a start on this community! I also wanted to thank everyone for joining. :D It's lovely!

ANYWAYS...
So, a few of my friends and I decided we wanted to play with a Ouija board. We waited until it was really dark, and went to an old place that was allegedly haunted. The town I used to live in, where this story takes place, is said to have been built on an old pioneer-ship. [Is that a word?] Like a place where pioneers lived, along with the native americans of the east plains. There was four of my friends there, all of them generally skeptic, except me. We started off with a simple question "Is there anyone here who would like to talk to us?" We had one person look at the board and the other 3 look up and away so we could ensure no one was purposely moving the planchette. It moved to yes. So we asked "What is your name?" We got kglkgjdfgd. Complete jibberish. We moved on anyways. We asked "How old are you?" and we got 4. The next question was "How did you die?" and the planchette moved very fast over the "M" and "E" continiously. Back and forth. Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me for a VERY long time. This freaked us out. The next question was "When did you die?" and we got a strong "1914." This was odd. I was trying to think of what would've been in the spot we were at in 1914. This is when it got really scary for us. We heard VERY loud footsteps coming from behind us. We ALL looked in unison, we knew we all heard it. This intrigued me most being that the majority of our group were skeptic, not believing in ghosts. We moved the planchette to good bye and left immedeately.

I know it's not as awesome as the other people who posted, but still, that was my experience.

Topic: Ouija Boards.

I think Ouija boards open up a can of something we shouldn't play with.
Case in point:
Decided to take the Ouija board to the cemetary with my friend to see what was up. We decided to choose the most (reportedly) haunted cemetary in the county. When we got there, his car stalled and wouldn't start for a bit. And then, it felt like something was sitting on my chest. I broke out in hives. I couldn't breathe. As soon as we got out of there, I felt much better.
So we went up to this place called The Point (overlooking the harbor) and did the Ouija board there. We asked it if there was something in the cemetary that wanted to hurt us, and it said, "Yes." I, being the awesome believing skeptic (yeah, oxymoron) asked it to prove it to us somehow that there was something there.
It said, "Please prepare TRAIN DOG CCX"
I was like WTF? and said goodbye to the board because it was speaking nonsense.

We were on our way home and on my road, about to cross the railroad tracks. We got really close when all of a sudden the lights started blazing and the gate slammed down really fast. (Usually it goes a whole lot slower, but the crossing has been weird ever since two kids died there) My friend and I got freaked out and started holding hands....when I noticed the correlation.

TRAIN DOG CCX.

There was a train at the crossing. It was a CCX TRAIN.
And then when it passed, we were about to cross the second set of tracks when a dog ran out in front of us and made us slam on the brakes.

Needless to say, when we got to my house, we stayed awake until the morning light. I've never played with a Ouija board since.
