It starts
Well, I figure since theres been a decent amount of stuff happening to me the last few days and I'm about to take a big step into the unknown, it warrents a decent post on LJ.
First off, I quit my job. My last day at the Cheesecake Cafe was on friday. Everyone was sad to see me go and I got many a hug. It was sweet and I really didn't expect anything beyond a a "Don't let the door hit ya on the way out." My friend, Ross', last day was wednsday. So we ended up quiting at the same time and making the management go, "oh shit, we have no replacements..."
So why did I quit my job? Well, dearest Yoseph always has the craziest plans. This plan consists of the two of us picking up our belongings and heading to Vancover to find an apartment. Having lived in Calgary my whole life and having barely traveled, I of course said, "Hell yeah~!"
Still, I'm a bit nervous. We're heading over tomorrow to look at places. We're staying at one of Yoseph's friend's house while we go looking. Ack, Airplane ride. Never been on one before. It's not so much the flying that bothers or scares me, it's boarding the airplane! Frickin' security everywhere and I don't want to screw up and not be able to get on the plane. Also, as soon as we get off the plane, we're running to view a house! Which means unless we want to drag 20lb suitcases around everywhere, we have to travel light. So for the next 4 days, I get to live out of a backpack. Whee!
If everything goes well, we'll find a place during this trip. Then we can move next month. One thing that worries me is that none of us have a job waiting for us down there. Yoseph is currently working on the last stage of a interview for EA games as a bug tester, so he might be doing that. He sent me the information I need so if I want to try out for that job as well, it might be something to look into. I can always send in applications to do more kitchen work, so I'm not too worried about me. Unless Yoseph insists we live in a $1200 or more per mouth rent house.
Yoseph is a good guy. But I am a but worried he'll drive me a bit nuts. Does he like me for who I am, or who he wants me to be? Sometimes I wonder... Oh well, it will be an experience and I'm pretty easy going. We should be fine.
It would seem that the first month of our having moved out, however, we shall have no internets. So I'll probably cancel my subscription to Warcraft at that time and fire it back up when things get more stable. I haven't been playing much anyway. But alas, it also means I won't be able to check up on anyone! *sad* Even if I don't comment, I do read everyone's posts!
Oh... But it's not a Wyndigo post if I don't put up a random youtube video!
