death, life, and everything

So,this week a guy was killed at my job. I didn't know him at all. Yet, it got me thinking. If I was the one that was killed instead of him, would anyone even care? He had a wife and three kids. I don't even have my cat anymore. I see my parents once a year. Most of my friends wouldn't even know I was gone, because I don't talk to them on a daily basis. My life would be meaningless.

a long absence.

I'm sorry its been so long since I posted. My life has been an emotional roller-coaster for months now, and while sometimes its blissfully pleasant, other times it seems like everything is collapsing in on me. I was dating someone for nearly 6 months, and I broke it off due to the fact that I felt it was a bit too one-sided for me to continue with. My emotional needs weren't being met, and while people can change, I find that how a person acts is pretty much how they are, and forced changing never ends up for the good of everyone.

Being alone is bad for me. I cannot handle it. I end up going to great lenghts to get the moment of joy that I'm lacking, and usually end up ruining my life. I do not like who I am when I'm like this, its like I'm seeing someone else in the mirror, and it scares me.

blah

I've fallen into a state of blah-ness, where nothing really sounds fun or interesting. Nothing seems to hold my attention for very long, and nothing sounds appealing. Any suggestions on how to get out of this?

Politics = GAH!

Centrist
You scored 54% Personal Liberty and 46% Economic Liberty!
A centrist believes in moderate government intervention in both personal and economic matters. They tend to be somewhat ambiguous, as they may have the oppurtunity to pick the side of any group surrounding them on any given issue. They generally believe in a moderate social safety net and what they consider to be a balanced stance on personal liberty. Centrists tend to emphasize compromise and cooperation between partisan groups.

contacts

For those of you who wear contacts, I recently got some more, since my supply of soft contacts was getting low, and I also ordered a box of green tinted ones. DO NOT EVER GET THESE CONTACTS. They are horribly uncomfortable, barely have noticable color change, and my vision was actually fuzzy, like I was in a smokey room some of the time. I wore them all day, and when I finally took them out before going to bed, my eyes were a wreck.

Religion

I always find it sad when someone makes anti-gay comments based on christian views. A while back, a 15 year old wrote a letter to my local paper with the title "Homosexuality is Evil". When I read editorials like that, I always want to respond, but the nagging notion of "they'll always believe what they want to believe" keeps me from doing it. There are so many interpretations of the old testament and so many views on how the parts of the bible should be followed, that I hate it when people say "the bible says..." If you believe one thing and are happy, that's great. But don't tell me I'm wrong because I'm a christian and I don't agree with you're opinion. Jesus was a teacher of love and compassion, and I think many people forget the core of His teachings and focus on the rigid interpretation of the word.

Airplanes

Recently I took a short trip via flying. Now, I've flew lots of times before, and I usually try not to check luggage if I can. Since the recent ban on liquid items, and as I'm addicted to expensive shampoos for my long locks, I decided to check my suitcase. Now, earlier this year, I bought some new luggage, so I could have some cool wheels to trip people with at the airport. When I got home and went to unpack after the trip, I noticed in horror that the interior supports of the suitcase were completely bent! The metal bars that run up the sides of the case were bent inwards, like it had been crushed! Do they just throw these things around at the airport? Now I'm afriad that the bars will be weakened because of the bending, and next time I fly, I'll get my suitcase back all crumpled as the interior collapses on itself.

(no subject)

Sorry its been a while since I posted, but not a whole lot has changed. I'm thinking about repainting the inside of my house, but I'm not sure what colors to use. Perhaps doing two colors, one for ceiling and one for walls, with a boarder, but I'm not sure yet. I have some work to do on the ceiling, as its covered with an awful popcorn texture, which has to be removed before I can paint it. Oh well, it'll give me something to do.

RELIEF AT LAST!

Its finally down below 100. In fact, its gotten cold enough at night that I have to turn my cooler off or I freeze! I don't mind the heat that much, but its also been rather humid, which makes my cooler not work at all. Hopefully, it'll stay this nice the rest of the summer!
