Orpha was born 30 Jul 1909 in Centralia, KS, daughter of Alson Tryon and Emma Shaefer.^[1]

She died in 1975.^[2]

Research Notes

Though John Henry Kurtz's Find a Grave Memorial quotes an unspecified obituary that says he first married Orpha Ruth Tryon and that she preceded him in death, they must have divorced each other, as both remarried in later life. His obituary mentions other children:

• Janet Kurtz (married name Brown)
• Larry L. Kurtz
• Henry W. Kurtz

These could be children of a second wife of John's, or could be children of Orpha's.
