Origins of my maiden / birth surname: Even though my surname is spelt Humay, I believe it was originally Humai. The spellings have changed over time. The earliest known spelling variant of this (sur)name is Humai. Humai lived in Ancient Egypt. He was a civil servant and prefect of Memphis under Thutmosis III (sixth pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty). (1481 BC- (1479 – 1425 BC) - 1481 BC) A statue of Humai is located in the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thutmose_III https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Prefect_of_Memphis_Humai-E_5336
This became a Hungarian spelling. Once the Slovaks became independent of Hungarian rule, the spelling was primarily Humaj for men and Humajova for women. When my paternal grandfather emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, he changed the surname to Humay, so it didn't appear to 'Germanic'. The Slovak Parish records have all four spellings as well as other different spellings. Like most words in Slovak, my surname has a case structure. The case structure is the same as that used by the Slovak language for the Slovak name for the Danube River: Donaj. Therefore, the various spellings of Humay / j / ova / i / would include be as follows:
ORIGINS and LOCATIONS of the SURNAME HUMAJ(OVA) and links to Humai, Humaj, Humajova and Humay variants: Egyptian, Illyrian, Hungarian, Slovak, Polish, Turkish,
COAT of ARMS: There is a Coat of Arms in existence for at least one Male Humaj. The person to whom the coat of arms was issued was a military man (soldier). I unfortunately do not have a copy of this coat of arms which I would only use for research purposes pertaining to genealogy and one name study purposes. I have it on good authority from one of my Humajova 3rd Cousins that the original Humaj whom she knows of was a soldier.
GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATIONS: The surname Humaj(ova) and various spellings include but is not limited to: Albania, Australia, Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, Czechia / Czech Republic / Bohemia / Moravia, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Ukraine, United States of AMERICA (USA) (US).

This concurs with My True Ancestry (MTA) stating that I have Illyrian ancestry and working within the geographical boundaries of Old Yugoslavia and Albania region having a community of true Egyptian immigrants and their descendants. Illyrian has since dissapeared from some of the MTA documentation and is now replaced by a Greek ethnic group.

It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!
If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.
We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.
Thanks for taking the time to get back to us!
Kind Regards
Margaret Haining Membership Coordinator
I appologise for not responding earlier, but I had to 'ready' my tenancy for the second inspection for the year. We were told that we had to move out. We have spent time looking for a new home, packing up and moving. We haven't finished unpacking, but I am updating all my 'data', hence perusing my Emails rather quickly. I had to respond to a cousin's request about lines to the Presidents Adams of the USA.
I still have much work to do on the Australian lines, but I am working through my ancestors sequentially.
I have to update my MyHertiage data pack and account.
Joanne (Humay-1) Joanne
Regards, Margaret, Membership Coordinator
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I just sent you a private message concerning sources for pre-1700 profiles. Can you please look for that message and confirm you received it? Thanks!
Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you have begun adding profiles for the pre-1700 ancestors you have found in your search. Congratulations on finding records back that far!
Since you are now back in the time period where many people can be descended from those ancestors, we need more details in your source area. As collaborative genealogists, we need to tell each other our sources so that we can work together to assess the relative reliability of the source and the evidence it contains.
The Sources - Examples section more fully explains what information needs to be included in source citations for pre-1700 profiles.
We're looking for reliable sources to add to the various lists. Would your source be a good addition?
Thanks,
Debi
PS The Sourcer app can make creating citations for Ancestry records really easy.
I am taking my pedigree back as far as I can due to the fact I have much endogamy in my DNA results. I cross reference MyHeritage, Ancestry and Family Search records. If I find there are errors, I look further afield at Clan and Dynasty Organisation Records. I rely heavily on BDM and Parish records that can be found on the three sites that I am primarily listing.
On the three above sites, I usually rely on the Parish records. If I can't find anything on the parish records, I then usually look at Wikipedia, Clan websites, ask others etc.
I am also appreciative of others telling me if there are errors in my research.
My main site is on MyHeritage. My trees usually end up with duplicates as there are many ways that people are listing the royals and nobles of Europe. I then download my trees to Legacy software from MyHeritage and commence editing - ensuring that each person has a 'surname', which in many cases is the name of the Dynasty they are from. I use the Dynasty as a surname, due to the fact I have a minor brain injury and this formula assists me in remembering who each profile belongs to.
The full list of my research is found on my MyHeritage site, which is where I am linking everything back to. At the moment, I am just using the generic site names for where I found the information or have the information listed on my trees. I will look at providing more information when I finish my pedigree which is all the information I will place on Wikitree. If people require further information, I am happy to provide the profile research information that I have on MyHeritage.
Hopefully this answers you question about my research.
Stay safe,
Joanne
Thankyou for notifying me of the duplications. If you see any more, please don't hesitate to notify me. I am attempting to not create notifications.
Joanne.
Are the profiles listed below of concern to you or not? This was all taken from documents that were researched by one of my late mother's cousins in the 1980's and before. Her research was thorough.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are usually shared by many descendants, collaborating with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Review the project pages to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.
Can't find what you're looking for? Let me know, and I can make some suggestions! :-)
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
