Research Note
HIs death is transcribed incorrectly in some sources. His will was dated 26 Dec 1863, which led to a transciption error of "about 1863". . Close examination of the will shows a codicil added 2 Janary 1867. He clearly died after that date.[2] The cited Find a Grave and Dickenson College records make it clear he died much later, although one (Dickenson) lists a death date of 29 Feb 1868 and the other the morning of 1 March 1968.
