Julius was born 7 Apr 1892. He was the seventh child of Jewish merchant Benjamin Hirsch and his wife Emma Hirsch (née Erlanger).[1]
He played left-winger position for teams including Karlsruher FV and SpVgg Fürth.
He served in WWI in the 12th Bavarian Landwehr Infantery Regiment and received the Iron Cross.[2][3]
Hirsch married Ellen Karolina Hauser a Christian, in 1920. They had two children: a son named Heinold and a daughter named Esther. In 1938, Hirsch's children were forced to leave their school, and in 1941 they were required to wear the yellow star. In an effort to protect his family from the Nazis, Hirsch divorced his wife in 194213.
His brother Leopold was killed fighting for the German army.[4]
He was deported to Auschwitz on March 1, 1943, and is presumed killed soon after that date.
