Biography
Clement Haughton Langston Cazalet was an English tennis player, who competed in the men's singles Wimbledon quarter finals in 1900. He also won a bronze medal in the 1908 Olympic Games, which were held in London. [1]
Clement was born in Holmwood, Dorking, Surrey on 16 July 1869, and was baptised in Paddington, St James church on 13 April 1870. He was the son of William Cazalet and Emmeline Fawcett. [2] [3]
He may have been a sickly baby, as the 1871 census showed Clement as a patient in the Water Cure Establishment, Great Malvern [4]

Clement remained in Great Malvern and was educated there, he was shown as a student, aged 11 on the 1881 census [5]. He subsequently attended Rugby School, and Trinity College, Cambridge. [1]
By 1891, Clement had returned to the family home in Grenehurst, Capel, Surrey [6]

His professional tennis career spanned many years, from the 1890's through to 1908 [1]
Clement served as a Major in World War 1, in the Volunteer Driver, Corps: British Red Cross Society. His military records show that he attended Queen Alexandra's Military Hospital At Millbank in 1918. [7]. For his service to his country, Clement was awarded the Britain, Campaign, Gallantry & Long Service Medals [8]
In 1922, Clement married Mildred Rourke in Paddington, London [9]
The 1939 national register showed Clement and Mildred living at Millfield, Mount Pleasant, Battle [10]

Clement passed away in The Hall Nursing Home, Harrow Weald, Middlesex on 23 March 1950. Probate of his estate was granted to his solicitors, and was valued at £18,341 7s. His home address at the time was noted as 76, Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London. [11]. He was 80 years old [12]
