Younger/older version

Hi, there is currently no adopted policy for using lower numbers, and that serves no purpose except being aesthetically pleasing. If you want to undelete, move all of the links over and lose the history associated with the page with more links - go ahead. However, there is no need to according to policy as of yet. Hi Conny, bei Ben Nevis hast du für die Aussage "Geographisches Objekt" zwei Quellen angegeben:

1. Verlag: Axel Springer AG
2. Verlag: Scottish Mountaineering Club

Quellenangaben sind zwar fast immer gut, aber "Axel Springer AG" ist leider zu allgemein. Wo soll ich da nachschlagen? Autor, Buchtitel, Ausgabe, Seitenangabe: alles fehlt. Und der zweite Eintrag ist kein Verlag, sondern ein Club. Außerdem: Die Aussage, dass ein Berg ein "Geographisches Objekt" ist, ist weitgehend unstrittig. Belegt werden sollten weiterführende Angaben wie Höhe, Erstbesteigung etc. Fröhliches Schaffen --Kolja21 (talk) 18:16, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Danke für deine Nachfrage. Ich habe erste Versuche unternommen, leider konnte ich die Inhalte, welche ich eintragen wollte nicht eintragen. Mit Buchtitel das ist mir auch aufgefallen :) . Aber Problem ist, nicht jeder Buchtitel einen Wikipediaartikel hat - im Moment scheinen dort nur Items als Quellen angebbar zu sein? R stable version

Hi, Conny

I deleted the "Imported from: English Wikipedia" source because it referred to the 3.0.0 version, not the 3.0.1. What I did was: noticed it needed to be updated; checked latest version at R official site; updated latest stable version at Wikidata; then removed the source.

Was this correct? I've read some of the Wikidata documentation, but not all of it. I may be doing things not in the appropriate way. How should it be done?

Hello, I'm Bovlb. I notice that you have blanked an item Q99312, either fully or partially, by removing some combination of sitelinks, claims, and labels, or by replacing valid labels with strings such as “DELETE THIS”. It's possible that you did this because you were attempting to delete the item, but I’m afraid that’s not how things work here.

If you want to request deletion of an item, please do so at Wikidata:Requests for deletions. Even once you have done this, you should still not be blanking the item in anticipation of its deletion. There are several important reasons for this:

• Anyone reviewing the item will want to assess for themselves whether it ought to be deleted. If you have already removed information, then this may make it harder for them to determine correctly whether the item is notable. In particular, a sitelink usually implies that the item is notable, so they need to be reviewed carefully.
• Your deletion request may be declined. In this case, your removals will need to be reverted.
• The item may be deleted but subsequently undeleted.
• The item may be a duplicate of another item. In this case, the two items will be merged using a merge tool, and everything will be copied from one to the other. For this reason, it is helpful if the deleted version of an item is as complete as possible.

I'm torn here. This unblock request undertakes to stop editing the item, but it also show no understanding of what went wrong here, and obviously there's now a history of ignoring a clear warning. A one-item partial block is pretty much the weakest sanction we can impose after warnings, and in this case it perfectly enforces the desired effect. If he is undertaking not to edit the item, then it's unclear what unblocking would achieve beyond opening the door to further problems. I'm going to leave this for another administrator to resolve.
