Task/s: Upload metadata for literary works from research project
Function details: This bot will upload metadata about a corpus of over 5000 literary works available on German and US Gutenberg projects. The metadata in question has been collected and curated in the course of several research projects in comparative literature at McGill University and University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
We are also looking into ways to further enrich our metadata with library IDs. If we are successful, we will also upload these. When the bot has finished with the corpus mentioned above, we can either retire it and ask for new approval when we have accumulated a reasonable amount of metadata again, or we can rest the bot until this happens and repeat essentially the same task with a new metadata collection.
The bot is fully automated. But it runs only when initiated manually and the results are closely supervised by its owner.
Periodicity: The bot will run intermittently.
Edit rate: At most 12 edits per minute, that is, one edit every 5 seconds, according to recommendations on the Bots page.
Language/program: Python, specifically WikibaseIntegrator.
