If you have crossed the bridge since Wednesday 5th November 12:01 am, please use the link below to pay your toll.
Failure to pay your toll will result in the issue of an Unpaid Toll Charge.
The Warburton Bridge daily passage cap
The Warburton Bridge has a daily passage cap, you’ll only be charged for a maximum of 2 passages per vehicle within a single calendar day (from midnight to midnight).
| Motorbikes, Cyclists and Exempt Vehicles (including Blue Badge Holders) |
Exempt |
| Local Resident Discount (WA3 6, WA13 9, or M31 4) |
50% toll discount |
| Car, Van or Bus less than 3.5 tonnes |
£1 |
Vehicles weighing 3.5 tonnes or more must submit a permit request at least 6 days prior to arrival at the Bridge. Permits are valid for a single day. The full toll per passage is still payable. Requests are subject to approval and additional restrictions may apply.
50% toll discount for local residents. Exemptions for blue badge holders, disability tax exempt, military, crown vehicles and public service vehicles.
You can pay online via the website, use guest payment for one-off crossings, set up a prepaid account for regular use, pay through the mobile app on iOS or Android, or use the automated phone line on 0151 453 6561. Payment must be made by midnight the day after your crossing.
You can use the bridge without creating an account by choosing guest payment. If you use the bridge more regularly, setting up an account can make things easier and is required if you want to apply for discounts or exemptions.
There is a daily maximum charge of £2 per vehicle between midnight and midnight. Each crossing costs £1, but once you reach the £2 cap, any additional crossings that day will not increase the total. Payment is still required within the usual timeframe.
Payment can still be made as normal up until midnight the day after your crossing. If this deadline is missed, an Unpaid Toll Charge (UTC) will be issued, which increases over time, so it is best to deal with it as soon as possible. Details of how to appeal or pay the UTC will be provided on the notice issued.
At the end of the payment process, a confirmation screen will appear with a reference number. A confirmation email with the same reference will also be sent, so it is worth checking your spam or junk folder if you cannot see it in your inbox.
Receipts are sent automatically to the email address used at the time of payment. If it’s not in your inbox, please check your spam or junk folder.
If you’re still unable to locate it, please contact us via the website contact form, providing your vehicle registration and payment details so we can assist.
Toll charges are now live and any/all crossings must be paid for as of Wednesday 5th November 12:01am.
When using guest payment, you may choose to purchase credits in advance. Each time you cross, one credit is used automatically. Credits are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase and are non-refundable.
Exempt vehicles include police, fire and ambulance vehicles on duty, Crown vehicles such as military and National Crime Agency vehicles, vehicles transporting a blue badge holder (subject to application), motorcycles and mopeds, breakdown recovery vehicles, and public service buses on local routes.
The £20 minimum applies only to prepaid accounts. If you prefer not to add credit, you can continue to use guest payment instead.
The Application process is now live and qualifying local residents within the stated postal codes are able to apply via the portal for a Local Resident discount.
No. The discount only applies to residents living in the specified postcodes.
When making a guest payment, you may have purchased credits. Each credit covers one crossing and is used automatically each time the vehicle crosses the bridge.
The email confirms that all of your purchased credits have now been used.
This email relates to guest payment credits, not your prepaid account balance.
Credits and account balance are separate. The email is confirming that all credits from a previous purchase have now been used.
If you have both credits and a prepaid account, any credits will always be used first. Once these are used up, your prepaid account balance will then be used for future crossings.
Your account balance will still be available and has not been affected by the email.
