Grant Funding Process

A simple process to share your vision and start building with support from vlayer.

  • Explore & Connect

    Start by exploring the vlayer repo and docs to get familiar with the stack. Join our Discord to ask questions, attend office hours, and connect with other builders. Not sure if your idea fits? We’ll help you figure it out.

  • Build Something Real

    We prioritize early progress — a prototype, repo, or design spec goes a long way. Share updates in Discord or build in public at a hackathon or event. When you’re ready, reach out via Discord or office hours to get access to the application form (it’s not public yet).

  • Apply

    Submit your application with project details, milestones, and funding needs. The process is lightweight and built for builders. You’ll receive a confirmation once it’s submitted.

  • Evaluation & Decision

    Your application will be reviewed by the vlayer team and relevant experts. We may follow up with async questions, a short call, or a working session to refine your proposal. Expect a decision within two weeks — with feedback if not selected.

  • Activate & Deliver

    If approved, you’ll complete onboarding (KYC + grant agreement) and get paired with a vlayer mentor. You’ll receive initial funding to begin, with the remainder released once milestones are met and shared publicly. Many grantees continue working with vlayer beyond the grant.

vlayer enables developers to extract, verify and integrate real-world data into Ethereum smart contracts. Our technology is powered by Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) and Multi-Party Computation (MPC), allowing you to securely verify private data without exposing sensitive information.

By enabling users to prove specific facts without revealing underlying personal information, vlayer empowers businesses to build trust without the need to access or store sensitive data like names, birthdates, government IDs, or financial information.

A few real-world applications of vlayer include: 
  • Use Web Proofs to verify social media engagement for brand partnerships or to generate verifiable proof of asset custody in institutional holdings 
  • Use Email Proofs to reset account abstraction wallets
  • Use Time Travel to verify historical ETH, ERC-721, or ERC-20 balances for airdrops, voting rights, or other on-chain entitlements
  • Use proof of holdings on another blockchain as collateral for loans via Teleport

vlayer makes zero-knowledge proofs easy to use. No cryptography expertise needed – start building in minutes and bring powerful privacy and verification to your web3 app.
Builders, whether solo or in teams, creating innovative decentralized applications on vlayer are eligible for grants. We support projects that advance verifiable and privacy-preserving use cases, or enhance the vlayer ecosystem in meaningful ways.
All vlayer grants are retroactive, meaning we award funding for projects that have already demonstrated tangible progress or achieved key milestones. If you're still in the early stages or developing an idea, we encourage you to join the vlayer community on Discord and share your work-in-progress – we're happy to provide guidance and support. 
Funding amounts are determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the scope, impact, and stage of the project. Approved grantees may receive between $1,000 and $10,000 in funding, along with vlayer credits, which are also factored into the total grant support.
