Meet the 2026 Awards of Excellence winners

Each year, the University of Ottawa Alumni Association gathers to celebrate alumni who have made exceptional contributions to the Gee-Gees community, Canada, and the world. This year we honoured eight Awards of Excellence winners whose actions and achievements represent the best of uOttawa.

Getting Olympic ready with mental performance coach Jean François Ménard

JF and Kingsbury

Aiming for Olympic gold is a team sport, and when Team Canada makes its way to Italy for the 2026 Winter Olympics, one of the vital supporting roles is to ensure athletes are mentally ready to perform at their best. Two-time uOttawa graduate Jean François Ménard (MA ’07; BSc ’05) will be one of the people leading that charge.
