Our new book is finally out! A hands-on exploration of data science for neuroimaging, based on our experience teaching @neurohackademy, with plenty of examples using Python software tools and open data.

Cool and encouraging work by @pearsekeane and colleagues (including @uw's own incredible @aaronylee and members of his group!), demonstrating that domain-specific self-supervised learning can create a basis (foundation, if you will...) for a range of specific tasks in that domain

An incredibly fun and fruitful collaboration that started over zoom and email back in the midst of 2020 COVID lockdowns. Large publicly available datasets like @DevelopingHCP enable a plethora of analysis approaches, uncovering novel basic findings about human brain development.

Excited to share our new work now out in PNAS: We used the dHCP data to show that white matter myelinates faster in utero than ex utero. This difference in myelination rate, in turn, explains the reduced myelin content seen in infants born preterm. doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2…

Kudos to Alfie for an excellent interview! And always great to hear Aviv's perspective. A balanced yet hopeful view of what qMRI might do for medical imaging and our understanding of the brain in the not-too-distant future
