I'm not for kink shaming but I'm gonna be real detrans and misgendering kinks can very easily be pipelines to groom trans men into detransitioning in real life. I feel like it comes from the isolation of being transmasc, and how we're only seen as desirable when we're performing femininity (you know the common story of young tboys being groomed by older cis guys who don't see them as men so they detransition? Doesn't it seem familiar?), especially performing femininity sexually. You either keep it very strictly fantasy and make sure you've got everything under control or you're at a pretty high risk of getting groomed.
I’m for kink shaming.
This take makes sense if your baseline understanding of kink is that it’s neutral. Just something that people are into for some reason and there’s no concerning psychology or system of oppression behind it.
Whereas my viewpoint is that kinks have a psychology and a trauma and a system of oppression that leads to their development in the first place, so we have to think about why people are engaging in them.
I see detrans kinks as very similar to a d*ke-breaking kink. Not just because the mostly male fetishizers of these two kinks are often one and the same. If I met a lesbian who was into this, I would be very concerned for her mental health, and I would question what trauma and oppression led her to the point of wanting to engage in that. I would say she probably needs therapy. Same goes for transmasc people.
And I would especially question any person (cis or trans) who wanted to engage in it as the perpetrator of that fantasy, as to how they may be involved in those systems of oppression and why the erosion of your boundaries and your right to self-expression would get them off.
I’m kink-negative in the sense that I think it’s fucking weird if someone wants to harm you physically or psychologically in the bedroom. I’m kink-negative in the sense that in a better world, no one would have a kink for literal conversion therapy rape. I’m kink-negative when it comes to the perpetrators, not the victims (real or imaginary) in these scenarios.
You can hardly even find actual detrans people in the detrans tags because it’s so full of this shit. That makes it hard for people to find support and community, without their suffering being sexualized or redirected into the pursuit of patriarchal femininity.
No not fucking co opt my post to put it on fucking radblr again.
