god these people in the fandom give me the ick in how they think EVERY decision onc makes is for money and not looking at the bigger picture over the server incident.

not defending jared/onc here, but the whole reason the server got locked into patreon-only because of the raid/harassment campaign that happened there, not because of money. People were getting harassed and death threats on there.

"but why not just ban the raiders?" banning them is only a temporary solution. the raiders could just make new burner accounts and do another raid again. as long as the dc server was accessible to everyone, a raid could happen again. closing off the server was the only surefire way to stop anymore raids from happening and people getting attacked. also if they banned the raiders, people would think the mods are trying to silence people from speaking up.

hopefully this situation is only temporary and the server will open back up for everyone once this whole viester shit finally settles. that won't be for a while though.
