If you donate $1 to any mutual aid fund, including handing your local homeless people cash, which I will simply take your word for, you can request a character design and I will make a public domain character with that design.

If you donate $50, you can pick a pride flag, or even just your favorite colors, and a style of hat, and I will crochet a hat in those color and I will give it away for free to my local community. (Cuz I can't ship things, especially if you live on a different continent)

If anybody else would like to join me in this offer to make art for people, let me know and I can add you to this post for people to send you requests!

(I was originally also offering to novelize public domain movies, but my laptop is currently not functional, so that will have to wait)

The beauty of his face was beyond my wildest dreams

[ID: fanart of Yellow and Blue from Deltarune chapter 5, based off of Vocaloid song and art Magnet.

Blue is a man with dark blue skin, with light blue locs wearing a light blue ballet outfit while Yellow is a man with yellow skin, wearing a cowboy outfit. They both wear headphones with butterfly wings on them in each other's colors: Blue wears the yellow headphones and Yellow wears the blue headphones.

Blue smiles at Yellow seductively, holding the back of Yellow's hand to put it on Blue's shoulder. Yellow looks at Blue flustered and blushing. The background is composed of yellow, blue and green abstract shapes. End of ID.]

How to carve a crochet hook using random sticks you find outside, or dowel rods or whatever. I vote go find some invasive tree and take branches from that.

Peeling the bark off works best when it's fresh. You can leave some on for the handle but you'll want to peel it off the top part for the hook if possible. (Use your knife to scour around the stick where you want the bark to stay, and peel from the top down to that line).

Pro tip: If you're using older muscadine grape sticks (which is not invasive, but it does sometimes get in the ways of the sidewalks), the bark is not coming off. Lol. Just carve it away. You can't get that off.

Stuff you'll need:

  • Safety goggles. (No! Your normal eyeglasses do not count!!!! Get some safety goggles!!!!!!!)
  • A sharp knife for carving with
  • Something to catch the woodshavings (which you can throw outside for mulch, or use as kindling for fire, idk.)
  • Sticks of any kind. Fresh ones are easier to carve, but may crack as they dry (has not happened to any of mine yet)\

You could also carve other materials, but sticks is all I've got.

[ID: An MS Paint drawing titled, "How to carve a crochet hook" with a simple list and color-coded drawing. Two black rectangles, one straight up and down, the other at a diagonal, serve as diagrams for the crochet hook, with the areas that are cut away greyed out, and the cut marks colored in the order you do them. Step 1 is in red, is "Pick top/front. Shave off sides to narrow the top slightly." Two red, shallow curves cut away either side of the top of the rectangle. Step 2 is orange and yellow, and says "round the top on all sides". Further instructions say, "make top pointy, but not sharp." Step 3 is in blue, and says, "Make a straight line at an angle pointed toward the top, or make two lines that form an X (slightly more complicated). It shows a blue line across the top section of the rectangle, within the narrow section created by the first red cuts. Step 4 is in purple, and says "Slowly cut a curve down toward the cut you made to form the hook part." and shows a straight line further down the hook, with an arrow pointed toward the blue cut above it, forming a curve when seen from the side. Step 5 is to "sand smooth". End ID.]

Now I just have to figure out what plants I can grow to make my own cord / yarn...I don't think dogbane grows here unfortunately, but possibly I can just use milkweed for it???

This image is public domain. You are encouraged to reupload it anywhere you want. Share the diy crochet hook lore.

I'll upload a video of me making one to the internet archive when there's time for someone else to hold the phone for me, lol

Another. This one designed to be 8mm, and successfully so.

You can see the leaf scars, and the little brown stripes they send upward. The bark color when dried seems to depend on whether it's near the base or the top of a branch. This is from the base. The darkest brown ones are from the very tips.

It's 8mm cuz that's the size I use for making the octopi everyone loves so this way I can teach other people to make them

[ID. Two photos of a hand carved wooden crochet hook with a handle still covered in light grey/green bark with small light brown speckles, and thin olive stripes in sets of 3 coming from the leaf scars. The exposed wood is yellowish white with some thin brown stripes. end ID.]

I think one of the worst parts about seeing ao3 users talk about “wattpad immigrants” and joking about ICE is finding out they’re from, like, southeast asia. baby, why are you talking about ‘wattpad immigrants’ like that when you’re a POC?

So uh. Today i found out that someone had made a smut fic on ao3 involving the sandy hook shooter fucking the kids who died.

What the fuck is wrong with proshippers. Seriously its "WE CARE ABOUT THE VICTIMS!" But in reality, No they don't. Sadly, Im not surprised given how im pretty sure Junko fucking Furwata A japense school girl who was raped, tortured and then murdered is an actual fucking character on there.

Every god damn fucking day i hope ao3 rots in the darkest deeps of fucking hell. Shit like this is just disgusting and disrespectful to actual people who died, Imagine you die and turns out people make you into a fucking character on ao3 and make fics about you getting raped. And the fact that a LOT of people are defending this just makes me sick to my stomach.

(If i see any proshippers try and defend the fic on this post, You will be fucking blocked.)

Edit - also apparently, uh in the comments Some people were going to meetup and make csam, and There was a self proclaimed pedophille in the comments. Double What the fuck, Im sorry about the double post.

Make sure you report these things to cyber crimes

Why do ao3 glazers always call “antis” puritans…the same people who hanged woman for existing?? Seems kinda odd and insensitive I’m ngl

r4t-sp4t said

They also don't seem to realize puritans historically have been in favor of the abuse apologia and romanticization they consume. Like... royal families trying to keep their bloodline "pure"? The whole stereotype about priests and pastors? They so desperately want to rewrite history and claim that their gross fetishes aren't tools of the right

Proshippers are calling Wattpad people “immigrants” like that’s a bad thing…lord we’re ready

Learn the dogwhistles that pedophiles and their supporters use the same way you learn TERF and Nazi dogwhistles. Keeping aware is the only way to keep yourself and the people around you safe.

Everybody does in fact have a moral obligation to protect children, it comes free with living in a society. Especially if you call yourself anti-capitalist, let alone call yourself a communist to annoy your bigoted relatives.

People trying to claim that hating pedophiles is the same thing as hating trans people and being racist are so fucking pathetic that they think they can fool anyone with this shit. It is 2026. Donald Trump is the president of the United States. He built his whole goddamn campaign promising to release the Epstein files to his fdollowers and wow look at that. He refuses to do that. Because he's in them.

You are dying on the hill of defending pedophiles and CSEM voluntarily. You have aligned yourself with Donald Trump and everybody else in the fucking Epstein files.

You do not get to try and pin pedophilia on trans people and Black and brown people to try and convince us that pedophilia is somehow progressive instead of literal billionaire white supremacist patriarchy in action literally live on fucking television, straight from the goddamn White House.

Anonymous asked:

In terms of allyship this is incredibly basic, but honestly more people should get comfortable with taking their phones out and recording people having encounters with police if they witness it. Many people may not be in that situation often (I have been in it a grand total of once and I still have the video even though it was three or four years ago; nobody got hurt luckily) but if it does turn into something horrific that’s one more piece of evidence that makes it harder to ignore. In my situation I was waiting for the trolley and it got held up because a guy fell asleep on there and there was like two cop cars and cops in his face. There were at least five others and I was the only one who recorded it and I kept thinking about what if something had happened and I wasn’t there, or what if nothing happened cause they saw me recording. Your awareness and signaling that there are eyes on these people can make a big difference.

‼️‼️‼️

There's a situation that I think about often, which is somewhat on the flip side, where people were recording but did nothing. This isn't to discount what you said- if anything I'm just saying, it doesn't have to stop at recording!

But there was a homeless Mexican dude, and this white guy decided he was gonna beat the hell out of this man. Ended up killing him. And his white family members surrounded him in a circle to prevent it from being recorded. They heard this man being murdered and they actively allowed it to happen, pushing the person who was recording back. Everyone just stood around, saying "no".

To this day, I think about what could have happened if they'd just swung on one of them evil bitches. Called the cops, and then started a fight. They let that man be murdered. Same thing happened with the homeless Black man on the subway. People record, but people don't step up. I don't need evidence of my murder as much as I need to not be murdered. Kick somebody in the head, hit em with your belt, SOMETHING to kickstart a larger battle than just... Watching someone die.

Because we've seen hella videos. We've seen how footage gets hidden, tossed out in court, all of that. So while I do think there should be some social pressure, I really think if you have the means to step in, do so.
