everything’s queer now

@rainbowhyperfixation / rainbowhyperfixation.tumblr.com

call me rainbow (they/she). leftist, fat, queer/bi, invisibly disabled, AuDHD and otherwise ND, polyamorous, 46 yo, white, nonbinary person. Currently hyperfixated on Good Omens and its actors, but will post about whatever stuff I find interesting. Lots of sexual innuendo here! Yes I recently changed my blog name

🌈 call me rainbow🌈

Pinned post time, I guess! And yeah, the brainlichen are still entirely fixated on Good Omens, so almost all of this ⬇️ is about it.

my art: these are things I’ve drawn or composite photos that I’ve made. I am still mostly tracing and very much a beginner at drawing

i made this: is a catch all for things I’ve made, like memes, video edits, gifs, etc.

My podfics (currently one tiny one of my own and a collab)

My ao3 (which has the podfic and a ficlet, so far)

My ao3 collections (clones, grindr, travel sweets Bentley, ox ribs, plants, and polyamory - almost all E rated)

I have a bluesky and a YouTube channel with some DT and MS content.

I’m here for the fandom because y’all are amazing. Neil Gaiman is an abusive asshole who can fuck off

Edited to add: I’ve been posting about my thoughts and feelings about the finale under my finale posting

Therapist told me yesterday that as I get older I’ll learn to empathize more with my mom despite her behavior / the lasting impact it’s had on me … how to verbalize that my issue growing up was that I empathized so much with my mom that it permanently damaged my ability to form boundaries because I got so used to always seeing the other person’s side that I never held them accountable and that it’s something I’m unlearning to this day

Is it just me

the "grown up" empathy that your therapist is talking about comes from a place of seeing your mom as a fellow adult and normal human being. its a different kind of empathy then when we take our moms happiness as our responsibility

All of these things are separate but obviously can coexist and often flow from each other:

1. See your caregivers as flawed humans just like everyone else

2. Empathize with why they do what they do

3. Realize we can’t and don’t need to take responsibility for other people’s happiness even though it had been offloaded to us since we were very young children

4. Validate our own emotions

5. Know what our boundaries are and realize when we are being treated unfairly

6. Speak up about and enforce those boundaries (ex: if you do x, I will do y)

7. Hold someone accountable/ be firm in what kind of repair is needed for you to maintain or reconcile a relationship with them

8. Know what you need and want out of your relationships with other people

9. Forgive ourselves for the times that we feel like we didn’t or couldn’t do these things for our past selves and indeed still can’t or don’t now

I am 46. I had numbers 1 and 2 pretty much nailed starting around the age of 13. I had #5 with peers and strangers well before then, but it took until then to start to apply it to all my caregivers. I’m still working on this in some ways.

My mom still wasn’t ok with me doing 6 right up until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. But I had been doing it fairly consistently since my 20’s with people in my personal life.

I feel like a lot of jobs replicate a lot of the same family dynamics as above. But maybe it was just my experience

Full script of the Good Omens finale

@theravenmuse did the bulk of the work for this. I've added the portion at the end of the finale.

Looking for a bit of dialogue? Search this rather than having to watch it to find it!

Some tidbits from Rob Wilkins at The Ineffable Con 6. 🤍🖤

"Nothing can top the kiss...apart from...I can't talk about Season 3 can I". ROB WILKINS

Rob saying there's no reason for there not to be more Crowley and Aziraphale, that they have their lives to live together going forward? Oh my heart. I am begging please. #TIC6

He also, when asked what historical period he wanted to see portrayed, said “the future” 🫠

I cannot imagine what he thought about when saying something from the finale tops the kiss in s2. I’m guessing someone will ask him that. But all I can guess is that fucking finger kiss before they die, which I think is worse because they, ya know, die right afterwards 😓

Gravity Falls shows that creators need not take the Westworld path of punishing the entire audience when a handful of fans predict the twist.

NG: the twist is there is no twist, but you punish your fans anyway

I recently watched Gravity Falls and just remembered to look up this mystery hoax that I scrolled past on tumblr but didn’t read because I didn’t want spoilers at the time.

Someone did try to look at the lead up to S3 through the Gravity Falls hoax. Mind you it's pre JUL 2024, so NG is thrown casually around.

Idk what Prime was going for. Doubting the Every leak too.

I think some people at Amazon are definitely incompetent and a small number might be malicious, regarding good omens in particular.

About EVERY: Someone was recently looking for the full video of the leak and it was eventually found. The Good Omens kiss was on screen for .06 seconds

If I had seen that ad at that time, I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. It’s literally a blink and you’ll miss it moment. But of course, in fandom, we don’t just watch things once and at speed. We examine them frame by frame. Here’s a gif of it

useful framework

[ID: A 2 x 2 grid. The labels across the top are "my monkeys" and "not my monkeys", and the labels down the side are "my circus" and "not my circus". The intersection of "my monkeys" and "my circus" is labelled "sovereignty". "My monkeys" but "not my circus" is labelled "alienation". "My circus" but "not my monkeys" is "occupation". "Not my circus", "not my monkeys" is "absolution". /End ID]

I just spent an hour searching my tumblr and google for a specific fanart and couldn’t find it. So I made a mockup of it to see if anyone else knows the artist or has more magical searching skills 😅

I hope you enjoy my effort 🌊💧🦆
