espoustive

a programmed system member that took on, or introjected, the identity of a source that they were not programmed with. this source may be internal, external, factual, fictional, or a varying mix. a headmate may do this to further develop, fight anti-identity programming, to rebel against handlers, etc.
ie. a system member taking on the appearance, name, and personality of ticci toby, a fictional character

espouse (adopt, embrace, support a belief or way of life) + tive (suffix for sourced system members)

oea exclusive. if adding to pluralpedia, put coiner under ‘onatimcore’ only, don’t link anything please. i don’t care about syscourse, do not involve me. if you don’t like the flag you’re free to remake it, i’d just prefer the hues to stay somewhat similar in respect to the alters we coined this for.

-structure

A (probably obvious) suffix for terms that describe a system's structure and/or something it is inspired by or based off. For example, a term for a system structured around being a hivemind could be "Hivemindstructure", or a term for a system who's structure is based off Vocaloid could be "Vocaloidstructure".

Some may consider this to be similar to -based terms, however those terms cover anything and everything to do with a system's functions, while this specifically focuses on one's structure. "Structure" is frankly a very vague concept, and I think a lot of systems have their own definitions of how they use the term, so that is entirely up to the user to define.

I have no flag template, as I am not a flag designer, however anyone is welcome to propose their ideas.

Persecutor Classifications

☀️ Sunlit Persecutor

Synonymous to talator, a sunlit persecutor is a system member that doesn’t purposely attempt to be harmful or damaging to the body, but ends up repetitively doing so. Sunlit persecutors may be misguided protectors attempting to protect the system or body, but end up having the opposite effect.

✨ Twilight Persecutor

A twilight persecutor is a standard persecutor; a system member who intentionally harms the system, other system members, or the body. What sets a twilight persecutor apart from the other classifications is that unlike a sunlit persecutor, they are intentionally causing harm. However, unlike midnight persecutors, they are do not harm people externally and/or have a clear limit to where their harm and behavior starts and ends.

🌌 Midnight Persecutor

A midnight persecutor may be a prosecutor; a system member who intentionally or unintentionally harms those externally. However, a midnight persecutor may also be a standard persecutor with less hard-limits to their harm than a twilight persecutor. They may find themselves causing harm or pushing for more without even consciously doing so.

🌑 Abyss Persecutor

An abyss persecutor is a system member loyal to another persecutor, and is willing to go as far as it takes to fulfill their wants or goals. Alternatively, they may be instructed by external sources, such as traumatizing events, abusers, and other circumstances.

🕳️ Trenched Persecutor

A trenched persecutor is the system member abyss persecutors often respond to. They’re “heavy-hitting persecutors” that have their own complicated wants and needs that they wish to enforce on the system (or others). They couldn’t care less on whether their actions come off as malicious and may even thrive on that fact.

BASAL HOLDER — An alter/headmate/whatever that is the “basal” source for something in or experienced by a system/plural/collective/whatever, whether that be emotions, complexes, symptoms, et cetera.

There is no “wrong” way to identify with this term. Subterms are allowed to be created with credits to us, this is just a base flag.

Coining Post

Miserably makes the coining post we were probably meant to do like two years ago or something. We have a lot of gatekeeper subtypes due to our gatekeepers specializing due to how quickly the gatekeeper:sysmember ratio went out of control and our system's requirement that all clusters have atleast one overseeing gatekeeper to prevent intercluster fighting or infighting.

Packet/s A fragment that acts as a mask on top of an alter, to prevent them from behaving in certain ways and keep them inline with a type of behavior. Packets can carry normal fragment behaviors [ex: disjointed emotional responses] but primarily act as a safety trigger to prevent an action or state from being visible, such as masking autistic traits. This can take pressure off of the system member fronting or cause strain on them. [Similar terms: Shell]

Neo- Used to describe an alter that formed after a system's syscovery, who have never known life as a singlet and are adjusted naturally to being part of a system. They may have a different relationship with being a system to members who have a sense of singlethood from before syscovery. They also may have more integration with the system or more familiarity with it's mechanics. Downstream/Upstream Originating from an early alter that has since split but also retained a trend of identity through most of those alters. This is good for describing partial doubles or systems that form in a a forked/tree branch pattern. If "Mary" has a bunch of people who look like her who formed from stuff that happened around her, they would all be downstream of her. Outerplane/s A section of the Innerworld which is similar to a dormancy hub. This is a null/void section which stores dormant or unconcious fragments. It could look like a liminal library, a star filled void, a white space with paper or a hallway with tables. An Outerplane has all of the following criteria: -Minimal visual components -An object or thing representing fragments -Unable to be reached by most systems due to being a level above the innerworld meta of the system. Union/s Innerworld alliances between members with a certain role to enact certain changes across clusters/sisasystems/sidesystems, Caretaker Unions may try to enforce regular teeth brushing, Protector Unions may cooperate to prevent something from occurring. Role Unions will vote of decisions or back spur of the moment calls. There is an understanding of who is and isn't in the roles union, either through interpersonal conversation or physical ledgers of membership.

Gatekeeper Sub-Types

GardenKeeper A GardenKeeper is responsible for the sub/unconcious of the system. This includes dormancy, dreams and subconcious trends. They can control dream scenes, terminate dreams or wake up the fronter and report back to other system members on the status of dormant system members. GardenKeepers are typically dormant or close to it but can control their own presence in consciousness easily. HearthKeeper A HearthKeeper manages emotions/holding in other system members. They can help calm or pause breakdowns and shift the burdens of events or disorders amongst other members. They can also create and store traumas/disorder holding/emotional reactions in a fragment or subsystem to delay processing for later. They may also function as a caretaker while doing so. FateKeeper A GateKeeper who works with alters to help adjust their sense of purpose or life goals. They can shift members in and out of front easily but primarily their goal is correcting no longer functioning drives/roles in system members in systems where these things are inherent to an headmate and can cause dissonance when outgrown. RogueKeeper A persecutor or protector gatekeeper who's morally/inter-personally unaffiliated with other gatekeepers goals. RogueKeepers have capacity to tamper with memories, change fronter and invoke dissociation. The deciding factor of a RogueKeeper is their willingness to misuse Gatekeeper abilities to act against other gatekeepers or non-gatekeepers. Essentially; They have gone rogue from otherwise negotiated democratic processes. Networker A Gatekeeper who interacts with the system through an internal computer system. They run their actions as functions in internal code and do not need proximity to interact with system members. They can have any skills of other gatekeepers or can be loaned skills [system admin privileges] by other gatekeepers. A networker sits behind front and monitors for issues and flags issues for other gatekeepers to handle. They can trigger a system freeze to resolve a system crash. Networkers may have access to a sense of internal data; such as the needs of the body, residual stress or system members who are able or unable to handle front due to personal stress loads.

Host/Fronter alternatives

Marathoner A system member who can front for over two days to a week without burning out. They take the role of host in larger systems as a stable figure. They are aware of fronting issues for their cluster/sisasystem/sidesystem and can be trusted to make educated decisions for that cluster or are aware they are making disliked choices. Sprinter A system member who fronts between marathoners during Marathoner Hiatus or when there is an irregular handover or niche skill need. They aren't required to be aware of fronting issues but are more aware of innerworld issues or cluster/sisasystem/sidesystem drama. A sprinter has less tolerance for long periods of fronting and will typically either cycle with other sprinters after two hours or burn out after a day. That is all of them! [Hopefully]. Gods. -Rune, Karma Cluster [they/any]

Liraic - a term for alters / headmates who feel shame or dysphoria for due to feeling like their skin color is too light. They may have lighter skin than the body due to this , or maybe they have darker skin along with the negative feelings.

Daraic - a term for alters / headmates who feel shame or dysphoria due to feeling like their skin color is too dark. They may have lighter skin than the body due to this , or maybe they have lighter skin along with the negative feelings.

An example of why one may identify as / with Liraic may be used because a mixed or BIPOC being feels guilty for not looking like their family or others around them. Daraic may be used due to shame for being darker than family or others around them , or because of general shame around non-paleness.

taglist ; @radiomogai @pluralterms @systerms-archive (let us know if you want to be added or removed from the list!)

These terms were made by a white person and therefore aren't exclusive to any cultures , ethnic groups or races. All we ask is to use our terms in good faith and for those 'transitioning' to another race do not use these.

Also feel free to re-coin or remake the flag , we wont be offended , all we ask is that you tag us or otherwise let us know /gen

can you make a fatigue holder flag?

Avatar
Fatigue Holder & Chronic Fatigue Holder

[PT: Fatigue Holder & Chronic Fatigue Holder]

Fatigue Holder, a type of symptom holder term for when a headmate who holds onto or experiences any type of fatigue the body may go though. They can often causing fatigue to be stronger with the headmate compared to others. This may be fatigue about specific effects, day-to-day fatigue, or is a embodiment of the systems Fatigue.

Two Versions: Overall Fatigue & Chronic Fatigue

[Overall Fatigue ID: in Alt text]

[Chronic Fatigue ID: in Alt text]

[Note] If this is already a term! Account this a Alt title, Alt term, and/or Alt flag.

Idk if this is already a thing (it probably is), but if it's not, I made some terms! Have fun with these, pluralblr

Lockbond / Pin Pair (get it, like lock pins?)

The relationship between a Lockmate and a Keymate

Lockmate / Locked Alter

An alter/headmate who will not or will rarely front unless another specific alter (Keymate) is present.

Keymate

An alter/headmate whose presence is necessary for a specific alter (Lockmate) to front.

"How is this different from a bonded pair?"

A Keymate does not need the Lockmate to be present in order to front, unlike in Bonded Pairs where the need for the other's presence is reciprocated.

"Does a Keymate control when a Lockmate fronts, like a gatekeeper but just for this one member?"

No. Whether it is because of an attachment to the Keymate, only feeling comfortable or safe when they are around, only really liking the Keymate out of everyone in the system, or any other reason, being "paired" in this way is by will of the Lockmate, and is not something that is enforced by the Keymate.

'Um, there's already a word for this?"

oh, good! I just made this cause I couldn't find anything and just wanted some words to describe our situation, but if there is an already accepted term, you can just consider this an alternate term for it or something I guess.

If these end up not being terms yet I'll make some flags

or maybe I'll make flags anyway cause the terms are different or something idk, I like making flags 👍
